My laptop is going into modern standby even when I try to put it in hibernate mode and it has become a big issue as the battery starts getting drained and it is constantly very hot.

Welcome to the forum.
There are so many very long threads about modern standby issues; Overheating (for some to the point of fire) and battery drain being only a few. Some, but not all, laptops allow a user to use S3 sleep, many can not. We need more info before we can begin to advise you of your best way of addressing this.

1. Important- please complete the computer specs portion of your forum profile so we will know what we are working with.
2. open cmd prompt and type powercfg -a Post a screenshot of the results
3. in cmd type powercfg -lastwake Post a screenshot
4. Open control panel-power options. Which power plan are you using?
5. When did you purchase it?

I have completed as much as I could find.

For powercfg -a, I got,

Earlier it was network connected but I changed it to disconnected to save power. Also, while it doesn't say S3 sleep unsupported when I tried to use it with the registry key change, my laptop wouldn't wake up from sleep at all. I had to force shut down with power button.

For powercfg -lastwake,

I am using Samsung Mode power plan but I don't think there is any specific difference from balanced mode in it. I have tried with balanced mode also. It doesn't work.

I purchased it in January of this year.

Thank you.

Is this what you tried? Option 2 in this tutorial? He includes 2 regedit files for download, If your PC crashes after using Brink's regedit file to disable modern standby, make note of the text highlighted in pink in the tutorial. He also includes a regedit file to undo the change.

If it works for you, run another powercfg -a

Yes, I followed that tutorial. I have tried both options. Both times it showed a change in powercfg -a. It showed S3 under the following sleep states are available on this system. Then when I tried to put it to hibernate/sleep, it would crash so I set it back to S0.
