Solved Latest Macrium Reflect updates


My backup strategy is to run three different backup methods concurrently. My trust in Macrium Reflect as one of them has been lowered.

Bug fixes and Improvements v8.0.7175 - 26th November 2022
  • ReflectMonitor
After updating to v8.0.7167, ReflectMonitor would not activate using the Hot-Key sequence, and the Taskbar toast notifications could fail to show. This has been resolved.
  • Dark Theme
We've fixed an issue with the Dark Theme drawing in the Rescue Media Builder advanced properties.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

Got push notice in regular windows but skipped for now. Booted ti insider dev now and got notice.

It's screwed her too and I couldn't restore to previous version because I don't keep second copy for it, so I'll try now. Nothing to loose.

I assume you updated to v8.0.7175, and everything is working as expected.

I haven't noticed any issues since upgrading to v8.0.7175.
There were a number of issues reported with the previous v8.0.7167 on the Macrium Software Support Forum.
But I'm not convinced they were all related to it.

Yes,it was 8.0.7175. offered by push notice this morning. In normal 22H2, MR payed version after fiasco with first attempt ( v8.0.7167) and system restored to previous version, now everything works as it should with no errors.
Tested it by moving forward scheduled backup.

But seriously. Releasing updates on a Friday is a bad move, for obvious reasons.

They have always preferred Fridays. I remember way back in V4 I had an issue with File & Folder backups which I opened a ticket for. They emailed me to say they had a fix for the problem on the Thursday but would I mind if they held it over until their normal release day on Friday.

It can hit the fan any day, no rules. Here it started scheduled backup and all's fine. I think I'll increase retain policy to 4 (from 2).
