Hi everyone,

I hope it's ok to post here as I didn't want to create a new thread for this but I've got an Office Pro 2021 license for only 1 computer in my microsoft account.

I just got a new laptop and I want to move that license over to my new laptop and I wanted to make sure what was the best way to do this.

Last time I installed office and signed in on a laptop just for testing purposes and uninstalled it then I tried to install Office on the actual laptop I was gonna use Office on and it would tell me that this license was already used on another computer.
I ended up having to contact a Microsoft rep and spent 30min explaining I wanted the license moved to this laptop, they ended up doing it but it wasn't straightforward.

I would like not to have to contact them again. So what I did right now, I signed out from Office on my old laptop and uninstalled Office.
So my Microsoft account (which carries my Office license) is no longer signed in on my old laptop.

Can I simply install Office on my new laptop and sign in? I fear that my license will still be tied to my old computer.

Is there any instructions on how to move a license from one computer to another?

You can always blow up that bridge when you get to it..., get yourself up and running on the new PC first.

Maybe sign into your MS account online and check that your Orders/Subscriptions and Devices are in order.

Just signed in to my Microsoft account on my new laptop, my license is there. I'm gonna click on install and then sign in Office using the same Microsoft account and let's see what happens :)

EDIT: Well you were right, it activated automatically.
So I guess last time when I had the issue, maybe I hadn't signed out from the other laptop when I attempted to sign in on another laptop.
