Well to be clear, I was using the beta software when I made that video yesterday, but don't think I was in smooth scrolling mode. Today, testing with non-beta "Options" smooth and rachet scrolling reveals no issues.

But yeah, could be a beta software issue with smooth scrolling.

Probably. Oh well, seems it only happens on Google Maps, as far as I know...,
I prefer to keep Free Spin/Smooth Scrolling enabled.

Logi Options+ comes out of Beta.

They sent me a 15% off coupon code in the email I got from them announcing the release of 1.0.

I bought the MX Master 3S and applied the coupon. It gave me 20% off

MX Master 3S arrived. First thing I did was replace the feet with some Hyperslides. Managed to remove the original feet perfectly, so I've stored them in the box in case I need a backup set.

The next thing I did was remove the existing the existing Bolt receiver from the MX Master 3 for Business and replace it with the new Bolt receiver. Recognzied the 3S no issues, went through the setup.

Interesting that it has some new options I've not seen. Also, when checking for a fw update, it starts saying 'please connect a valid device" and continues to try looking for a device instead of jsut telling me "Yes there is an update" or "No, your device is up to date". I suspect that there is interference by BitDefender, but have not troubleshot it yet.

Define legacy device? Anyway, can't speak on Options+, but I do know "Options" initially didn't support my MX Performance 3 mouse, but now does, so with my gear, I don't need Options+ - see this post.

Anyway "Options+" seems geared toward Logitech's newer peripherals, as my 2019 Logitech Craft keyboard isn't supported as well

I like the one click on the fly to change pointer speed...

Are you talking about the 3S? If so, for me, I never change pointer speed once set.

Anyway, the 3S might have newer bells and whistles, but unless one can't live without these new toys, I see no reason to replace the MX 3. I see it as throwing away an already perfectly good mouse just the say "I have the latest and greatest"

That said, if buying today, and it was between the 3 and 3S, yes, the "newer" 3S. If you've already got the 3, no need for the 3S. That's me.

Yeah, it's ridiculous these devices are supported by Options+, but Options still works. What's so special that you need Options+?

Yea, that sucks..., I'm not sure if they're trying to drop the whole Unified Receiver thing and go all Bolt, or what...???

To be honest, I can't remember most of the differences, because if you want to use Options, (if still installed), you have to uninstall Options+ first!!!
There are many more options and features in Options+ though.

The 3S is much, much better in terms of soft clicks, and the enhanced precision is probably 5x better than the 3 and previous MX series mice. Of course, using dual 4K screens makes me need the extra precision more than most, for all the things that I do.

I don't change things quite as often as Edwin, I suspect, but I do like to change things here and there. I bought the the 3S not as a replacement but as a supplement - the 3 for Business gets relegated to use with my laptop when I am out and about, because my MX Master original gen has a nearly dead battery, and I'm giving my MX Master 3 to a family member who needs a decent device after going through 4 cheap $9 mince mice in 18 months time. I'm not trying to convince anyone to buy or not buy the 3S, and nor am I trying to get people to use Options+ over Options. If you don't want it, cool. I just report on what I have and how it works.

Yesh, that's where I stand... I _was_ a little miffed about 9 months ago when an Options update installed Options+ without asking and everything stopped working. Hence my jaundiced view of O+....

That is weird, and worthy of being upset about. It *should* have been opt-in only, as I distinctly remember being asked to join the Beta and install it. I'd still be jaundiced about it if I were you lol. Stuff, particularly new stuff, and particularly stuff being tested should never be allowed an automatic install, unless it's been cleared by me first.

Hmmm.... That's interesting. Options+ never auto installed on my machine, and I've been using Options for at least 3 years. And 9 months ago, Options+ was still in beta form so it should have never installed without your permission.

Anyway, seems you sorted things out, and now Options is working for you
