Macrium Reflect 7.3.6391 can't restore Windows 11 correctly

I use Macrium Reflect 7.3.6391 to make a full backup of windows 11.
I use the USB rescue media to restore the full backup.
When the restoring process finish, I choose "Restart", and windows 11 works well.
If I shutdown the computer and turn on , windows 11 goes into the initial configure screen, like a whole new windows 11.

Any suggestions?

Why haven't you upgraded to the last free version of Macrium Reflect? It won't fix the problem but at least you will have the latest free version of MR.

You could try booting from your rescue USB again and selecting 'Fix Windows boot problems'.

Probably because karopi has a licence for v7 Home and doesn't want to loose the Premium features. That v7.3.6391 was the last update for Reflect v7. It should work well, the last but one update for v7 added Windows 11 support.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

I know this doesn't fix your problem, but I use v7.3.6391 free to switch between images of Windows 10 and 11 all the time.
I do recreate the V7 and V8 rescue USBs in Windows 11 every few months to make sure they have the latest boot file updates.
I still use V7 most of the time simply because I prefer the layout, and I'm old and resistant to change lol.

I've never had a problem with it.

So that I am clear, are you saying that is NOT what you are seeing after you restore this Macrium backup? Correct?

Please give more info about this. Exactly what do you see when you cold boot the machine? Are you logging into your normal account after you restore the backup or a different account? Why I ask is that you will only see OOBE the first time an account is logged into. (Initial config screen is OOBE)
What's throwing me here is you should boot up to exact same screen with both restart and cold boot....the login screen.(Unless you used netplwiz to automatically log you in)
