Back in 2014 I bought a MalwareBytes premium lifetime license which was on offer at the time for the princely sum of 175 SEK or about 16 USD. I used it a couple of times but went with BitDefender then Windows Defender for reasons that escape me now. While clearing out old email I came across the email receipt with the license code and thought does a lifetime license actually mean lifetime or is it until they release a newer version.
Well I gave it a try and yes it means lifetime as it registered without any problem and infact pointed me to an account on the MalwareBytes site that I forgot I had informing me that the license will never expire.

Now thats a result :)

I have 6 Lifetime Licenses.
Can't believe I am that lucky.
My last purchased license was less than $8.00 U.S.

Your life will undoubtly be long :)
I cant remember how I came across the deal, but it must have been from MalwareBytes themselves as the confirmation of purchase email is linked to them.

I've got a couple of Lifetime Licenses as well, I think I got mine at a time when it was possible to earn one when upgrading from the free version, I've not paid for them, well I don't remember paying for them.

Well, I am 87 years old so I guess my life was long.
The last purchase was from Newegg. That's the only one that I saved all the paperwork.

My last purchase was 03/20/2012
The starting price was $22.99 and had two discounts leaving the final price at $7.45 U.S.
Best bargain of the year :D

That is great news, AW.

For anyone that might read this thread, I want to encourage everyone to take a couple moments to register their license (Create an account) with MalwareBytes. And yes, there are many persons that fail to do so, and have regretted it later. A quick read on the net will verify this.

It's also a good idea to write down the license ID #, and license key #, and store in a safe place. Especially important, if you only have one (1), lifetime license.

If you should decide to switch to a another PC, remember to first go into Settings > Account, and 'Deactivate' on your current PC.

On your new PC, simply use your saved information, to 'Activate' on the new PC.

~~~~
I'm confident, that all the previous posters are already aware of the above.
I simply want to leave a friendly reminder, for those that may stumble upon this in the future.
Best regards to all. (y)
Hi folks
On HOME (and I emphasize here HOME , not corporate / Cloud / Enterprise systems) what's the point of this stuff any more -- was fine until W10 -- W11 as well security is based on AZURE - Ms's cloud service and is regarded as one of the best in the industry -- just get real folks --you are 10,000% more likely to become a victim of scamming than any hacking these days -- why would any even dim witted hacker bother to attack a "Mom and Pop" machine for 5 USD when they can go after corporates with zillions of dollars to spend.
These offerings are so last C20. Just don't give out info on social media, be careful with emails - especially from those you don't know the sender, avoid obvious scams suxch as fake websites offering "Tax refunds" and the like and you'll be OK. The only way to "Software protect" against Scams is for some really sophisticated A.I (Artificial Intelligence) stuff and we are a LONG LONG way off that currently.
If you want to install all these out of date 3rd party A/V software things because it gives you peace of mind then OK I can't argue with that --but on pure technology -it's a waste on current (and I emphasize) DOMESTIC (not corporate) systems.
Cheers
jimbo
The point is you don't put all your eggs in one basket. And no matter how careful you are, unless you're disconnected from the Internet entirely, you're not 100% safe, ever.
And calling Malwarebytes out of date is a misnomer - if anyone out there is on par with Microsoft and their security offerings, it's the MB team.
Well, can i buy one too? :wink::)
If so, you say the price. :) You have two customers interested in buying licenses from you!
You will get rich! :ROFLMAO:
Thanks!
As far as selling them, I don't think anyone with one is able to sell it. Otherwise they'd have to honor the license for 'multiple lifetimes'.
I know you were joking - jsut stating that, IIRC, the licenses were not authorized for re-sale.
How does one even acquire a lifetime license of malwarebytes premium?
I believe they stopped offering life time licenses back in 2014. You could check on there forum thou.
Correct.
I got numerous lifetime licenses as a tester and volunteer support for them for many years. I have a few that are unused, but reserved for newer machines that my family members will acquire in future years (and 2 that are not currently in use are only not in use because the machines they were originally installed on are running ChromeOS, and incompatible OS).
Question is, are those unused licenses still going to get activated if they stopped selling lifetime licenses already? The system to activate those licenses may not be in place anymore? Not sure if Malwarebytes is aware that some people are hoarding licenses. :)
