Today, we’re introducing ghost posts, Threads posts that automatically archive after 24 hours, so you can share unfiltered thoughts and fresh takes without the pressure of permanence or polish.
Here today and gone tomorrow, you can feel confident trying new things and posting spontaneous thoughts. Replies to ghost posts are sent to your messaging inbox, and only you can see who liked and replied. To create a ghost post, just toggle on the ghost icon.
Ghost posts are just one of the many tools you can use to express yourself and join conversations on Threads. Recently, we launched text attachments, which allow up to 10,000 characters for longer thoughts or excerpts from articles, and over the summer, we introduced the ability to hide media or text in posts that contain spoilers. We’ll keep updating Threads to make it easier and more fun to share your thoughts and connect with others.
