Feature updates​

Excel​

  • Comment Filtering Enable filtering capabilities for the comment pane.
  • Information Protection: Improved DLP policy tip reliability: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for Windows now consistently show the same policy tips that SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business sites have determined should be shown on a file.

Outlook​

  • Tables are more accessible for screen readers: Screen readers should more sensibly read out information in tables.

PowerPoint​

  • Information Protection: Improved DLP policy tip reliability: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for Windows now consistently show the same policy tips that SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business sites have determined should be shown on a file.

Word​

I have Office 365 and this installed for me today. I'm a Windows Insider (on Release Preview) but not a Microsoft 365 insider so I wonder why this was installed?

No errors. I have this installed on 3 devices - main PC, PC in hobbies room upstairs and a laptop. These 3 have always installed and never seen the 30088-27 error that many others are reporting. I've not signed up to the Office Insider program which is why I asked the question.

Wife's PC has Office 2021 and can't update at the moment due to the 30088-27 error.

but, try enrolling or un-enrolling/re-enrolling in the Insider, (whatever may apply to your situation)...,
might be worth a shot...

This update says "Microsoft Insider Current Channel" which I find confusing. Is this equivalent to Windows 11 Release Preview? This is what it says on my 3 systems. I'm not a Microsoft 365 Insider but I've got this update and it says current channel -

I have a reasonable suspicion 365 only has the 2 channels, beta and current.
