Microsoft could be bringing ads to the Windows 11 File Explorer...

Check this out:

That would be a very bad move. Essential/ core apps should be left out from such practices or their costs should be included with the price of the main product - Windows.

OK for say Netflix / other multi-media sites as you know what you are logging on to -- but if you are browsing in a quiet place you don't want load raucous loud rap music suddenly emanating from your PC - imagine if you were doing research in say Oxford University's world renowned Bodleian Library. A sure way to get your reading privileges and access rights permanently terminated. !!!!

Cheers

That'd be the worst thing Microsoft to ever do, they could've picked a different alternative like Microsoft Store, which is in my opinion a lot better instead.

Is the issue ads or suggestions? I'm sure that there would have to be a way to turn these off via the privacy options in settings. Business users would demand that, and they are the ones where MS gets its income.

Do like I do and keep the computer on mute until sound is needed.
