I prefer built-in tools over 3rd party solutions, wherever possible. It will be nice to see if Microsoft can give the users what they want. I find it hard to understand why big corporations keep ignoring features that are heavily requested by their users.

The latest Insider Preview 22572.1 seems to have the highly anticipated tabs feature.

Pretty basic as far as functionality is concerned, so far..., doesn't look proper either!
(I'll stick with QT!)

The biggest drawback seems to be..., if you're running Explorer Patcher, StartAllBack, RibbonDisabler, Old/New Explorer or any of that kind of stuff, you've gotta ditch it all or the Vive config won't work!

I'd rather file explorer could display long path, directory and file names (>266 chars) -- I know "internally" Windows allows that but file explorer (and a load of 3rd party apps) still use the old search / display API which limits to less than 266 chars and if over displays the name in old Ms dos 8.3 format. A few do OK like filezilla but most still use the old GUI.

As TheMystic, I prefer built-in tools, and again my scroll bars in File Explorer are squared. Build 22572. Anyway this time I'm not the only one

So far it's working just fine.

It would help if they first started by making explorer work properly in a single window, before planning on adding multiple tabs. Explorer performance is horrible, no matter which hardware you run it on.

Very little functionality!
The 'Files' Store App has more goin for it!
