I was playing around with Edge trying to get rid of 15 year old stuff in the Favorites and for some reason a couple of systems show a little circle in the Edge Icon in the Taskbar. I have attached a screen shot. Everything works okay but I would like to know what I did to deserve the modified Icon. Help appreciated.

Yeap. That's what is going on. I have two Profiles Mine and a "Profile 1". Any idea on how I get rid of Profile 1. Somewhere I must have done something wrong to create a second Profile.

The answer from JohnnyFire is correct. The best answer for removing it, that I found, is posted below.

The profile picture for the default profile in Edge is called Edge Profile Picture.png, saved in this folder:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\
Close down Edge, then open File Explorer (Windows key + E) and paste the folder path into the address bar there. Locate the file and rename it, move it to a different folder or delete it. Re-launch Edge to check that it's no longer being displayed.

The above was copied from the Microsoft Community website.

Fabler2 - That worked. The sad part is that I think I did that on a couple of other systems and "forgot" or did not know what effect it had!

Anyway, thanks everyone for the information.

Now, if I could just get an answer on how to tell Microsoft to quit downloading 15 years of old stuff to my favorites folders. I have ~10 systems running off and on (using the same Microsoft Account) and every so often I'll fire one up and let Microsoft do all the accumulated updates and as a bonus Microsoft jams all the old stuff back in all the computers that are running and even is so gracious as to jam the old stuff in a machine when I turn it on. It almost seems that the old stuff is stored locally and is sent to the cloud when it is turn on or Edge selected. I have followed the script supplied by Microsoft to solve the old stuff issue but there is no mention of clearing the old stuff on the local machines and that has got to be the source of the problem. Am I on the right track?
