Hi everyone,

I was updating Edge and when it was meant to restart, it didn't load.

I have tried restarting my PC and repairing Edge in Apps & Features with no luck.

Can anyone help?

Try this. Open terminal (admin) PowerShell and copy and paste DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. Once completed run sfc /scannow . Reboot and try Edge again.

OK. I restored from an image and the same thing happened - I went to update Edge and when it was meant to restart it did not work.

Maybe a bad update?

I just updated Edge (running Win 10), to v 105.0.1343.25, and everything seems to be running as normal.

...perhaps just an update timing issue?

Not sure if I should be happy I'm not alone or rather frustrated it happens...
I have the same issue and already tried without any effect:
- MS Edge repair
- MS Edge reinstall with offline installer
- MS Edge 105 Canary trick with disabling certain features (as found on the web)

Seems MS messed up with this one...

I am going to do the same thing. I would not be surprised if this is a bug in the update randomly affecting people. I will try again when 22H2 comes out on the 20th (I will definitely image before that 👍😺).

People are asking at MS forums as well, but so far the only advice given to them is... restore. :(

It certainly seems random. I am in the UK, living less than 20 miles away from kado897 above. He had problems, I didn't.

Huh, I just did a test on my work laptop with Win 11 21H2 Enterprise, and I confirm - no update issues whatsoever. Edge 105.0.1343.25 runs as expected.

My private device (Win 11 21H2 Pro) - as said earlier - refused to cooperate. Then I agree it's random, although it doesn't improve my situation!
