Microsoft released new lightweight Windows 11 Validation OS

  • Staff
Microsoft Validation OS is a lightweight, fast, and customizable Windows 11-based operating system that you can use on the factory floor to diagnose, mitigate and repair hardware defects during Windows device manufacturing. Validation OS boots into a Command Line environment to increase reliability on the factory floor and supports running Win32 apps, smoothing the transition from early hardware bring-up to retail OS and apps development.

You can find more details and resources about Validation OS at these links:

I like this release very much (y) I think that it is only a matter of time that this feature will be built into safe mode, i.e. the end user will be able to check on and repair both the OS and the hardware (y)(y)

Microsoft seems to go from one extreme to the other. When what everyone actually wants, is something in between the two.

Command line... yuck.
GUI with everything and the kitchen sink... yuck.

GUI with only enough to run programs and games... yummy.

Reminds me of the Goldilocks fairy tale.
This one's too hard.
This one is too soft.
But this one is just right. <----- the one MS can't seem to come up with. :/

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
