Microsoft is changing its famous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) to black in Windows 11. The software giant started testing its new design changes in a Windows 11 preview earlier this week, but the Black Screen of Death isn’t fully enabled yet. The Verge understands Microsoft will be switching to a Black Screen of Death for Windows 11, matching the new black logon and shutdown screens.

The Blue Screen of Death is iconic among Windows users -- although not necessarily in a good way. Indicative of something having gone terribly wrong, a BSoD (as it is often called) is not something you particularly want to see when you're using your computer.

Windows/365 -- what happens in Leap year on day 366 !!!!

that said - for some businesses this may well be a very viable way of maintaining their corporate I.T infrastructure. With a lot more permanent working from home for many people - at least for some of the time (Sorry Goldman Sachs employees - this doesn't apply in your case as I believe they want everybody back full time) having a central cloud provider makes a lot more sense than an overworked I.T infrastructure dept.

For home / domestic users I doubt whether this makes much sense for use on their own private computers -- some of the places I go to there's no Internet or even Mobile phone coverage - you need a Satellite phone to send / receive data !!! so this type of thing wouldn't be any use for these users --- e.g Volcano monitoring in very remote regions etc etc.
