Modifying the MenuShowDelay value does not work (animations when opening or closing windows)

First, excuse me if I make English mistakes.

So I'm on Windows 11 (up to date). I'm trying to set the MenuShowDelay value to 100ms (default value is 400) because I like to have at least some animations when I open or close windows, but 400ms is a bit slow for my liking so I wanted to try 100ms.
I tried the registry editor method which consists in modifying the MenuShowDelay value in PC\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
I also tried the Winaero Tweaker software. In both methods, after modifying the value, I restart my PC but then animations speed are unchanged. What am I doing wrong ?

Maybe nothing. Some old tweaks no longer work on 23h2. I can not say if this happens to be one of them.
That tweak was added to WinaeroTweaker in 2015. A lot has changed since then. Sergey says on his website it will work up to 10. He does not mention 11.

MenuShowDelay has nothing to do with window animations..., I don't think you can change animation without the use of a 3rd party utility, except for turning them on or off.

I'm trying to do the opposite. I don't want it to open the next menu when I hover over it (or actually try to move past it). In your example (I'm actually using the top menu row in an app), if you try to move from "view" to one of the entries in the submenu, eg. "small icons", your mouse might brush over "sort by" for even a millisecond. I want to get to "small icons"! Any way to stop this behaviour? Is menushowdelay not the right setting?
