Background: the all-in-one computer in the family room is getting old and slow, but it hurts me that I will have to toss out a perfectly good monitor and speakers as well. Trying to make lemonade from lemons ,,,

... I am looking for a 21" to 24" monitor with built-in speakers that I can mount on the wall. Best for me is a full motion VESA mount, because I don't trust my carpentry skills (the full motion shall hide my carpentry sins, LOL) Any cheap NUC (in a drawer) will then complete the trick.

Any suggestions on the monitor/VESA mount?

Well these are all monitors with speakers and a 100x100 VESA mount.

As for the full motion arm...

Here's one for example...

Here's bunches of full motion wall mount monitor arms... just make sure they can handle a 100 x 100 VESA mount.

Wow, Ghot, thanks! You found them both, monitor and mount (y)(y)

And choosing no frills items, they total only 60% to 70% of what an all-in-one with comparable technical specs would cost. Wonder what I am missing here?

The labor of someone else combining the parts.

Also, on the monitors... The IPS and VA screens will have a better image, but will cost more.
As for the monitor arms, look at things like range of motion and what weight they can support.

Like here's a nice 27", IPS, 144Hz, with speakers... weighs 14lbs.

And this wall mount will handle it...

And ofc, Ergotron are the Cadillacs of wall mounts... but they ain't cheap. ^^

Like this bad boy...

It really all depends on your budget. Like anything else.

Or you could go crazy... (but these don't come with speakers)

But you'd need a heftier wall mount for this 32 lb. bad boy... (definitely want to screw this into a wall stud)

And for some decent speakers... (get the ones with the bamboo finish)

Might need a bit more than a NUC for this stuff. :D
