Mouse cursor disappears on laptop and desktop after sleep

Windows 11
I've noticed that after the most recent Windows 11 updates, on BOTH my Laptop and desktop PC's, after I bring them back up out of Sleep/Standby, the (wireless) mouse goes away completely.

The only way to fix it short of a reboot, is to unplug the transmitter and plug it into another USB slot, then the cursor returns.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I've done the usual googling, but I can't find a solution other than what I've been doing. And I'm really sick of it.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Elevenforum.

I had something similar where the mouse cursor did not appear after booting up and signing-in but it appeared as soon as I moved the mouse. This got worse and I found that instead of switching the antenna to another USB port I found it easier to switch off the mouse (little switch underneath the mouse) and then back on again. This worked for a while but got worse so I put a new battery in the mouse but it didn't fix it.
Because the mouse was 10 years old I thought it might be an old driver incompatibility issue with modern Win 11 OS or it had become faulty so I bought a new wireless mouse (£9 + £4 delivery) and that 98% fixed it. I say 98% because the mouse cursor still does not appear after booting up and signing-in but it appears as soon as I move the mouse and after that it is okay until next boot up. I no longer need to switch it off and on again.

Maybe try another, more modern, wireless mouse? Can you borrow one off a friend?

Some wireless mice go on standby when idle for some minutes to save battery, is not a bug. Just click a button to make it work again.
