Move on-screen position of volume and brightness sliders/widgets?

OS
Win11
Win11 22h2.

My laptop uses keyboard function keys to control brightness and volume. A small on-screen horizontal slider appears bottom center to see the adjustment while pressing keys, but my hands are in the way so they are difficult to see. (I can activate the sliders with keys then switch to touchscreen and adjust with my finger, so that's a work around.)

I'd like the sliders to be freely movable and/or fix them to the upper area somewhere, left corner or center for example, where than can be seen more easily.

Is there a way?

Thank you for any help.

I have this problem with the new volume bar while watching a video (VLC window in maximized mode). I can't touch the indicator while one of my hands is turning the volume up/down!

Not without the assistance of a 3rd party app.
You could try advanced Trackpad gestures...

I already know about this (advanced trackpad) - I'm not having trouble adjusting, sorry if that wasn't clear. I want to move the onscreen sliders where I can see them.

Thanks for mention of Modern Flyouts, I'll take a look.

I'm trying to stay fairly close to vanilla Win11 as possible (by using an option in Windows 11 or perhaps trying some registry hacks I can revert). I am 'tech support' for my elderly parents and relatives who are simple users and get tripped up by these things. I'm keeping them all on Win10 for now but when they get Win11 I hope to know to solve some of these little things for them too. Thanks.

You can disable the Laptop Fn keys and let "Windows" manages the bars (volume/brightness).

Thanks. I do want to use the function keys as will my relatives, so really want to move the onscreen sliders instead. Hopefully this is/will be possible without 3rd party software but I guess we'll see.

I don't think it would be possible without a 3rd-Party app! I had such a problem with my VAIO. Its volume Fn key position was great (better than the new Win 11 volume bar position) but it sounded a horrible beep whenever I was turning the volume up/down! I just found the "beep.wav" sound in the VAIO Fn key folder (Program Files) and changed its extension to "beep.wav.bkp"! It solved.

I'm guessing that this wasn't a problem with previous releases? IMHO, the team at MS is really messing up an OS that could be great. All MS had to do was use Windows 10 as a starting base and add the improvements in Windows 11. Instead they decided to screw up a great OS so they could revive Window 8/8.1. They are blinded to the fact that they need two version of Windows. One for portable devices with touch screens and one for desktops. Yes MS, there is a large number of users that use Desktops or devices that don't have touch screens. MS, because you where to concentrated on making one OS for every device (8/8.1) you killed the best product you ever made, the Windows Phone. Your Windows Phone put any Android phone to shame. I know this isn't a MS site, but I know they do visit this site so they can get honest responses from users. I'm also sure that this site has users that work for MS. They just don't let us know.

Instead, they are using Win 11 as a starting base for the next version, 12 :woozy:

... Apple has accepted this already! Microsoft doesn't want to accept because:
Microsoft Engineers IQ > Apple Engineers IQ :woozy: (IMO, in reality, the symbol is vice versa)

Yes MS, there is a large number of users that use Desktops or devices that don't have touch screens.
And there is a large number of users that have (rubbish) touch devices but don't use them a lot (or barely use them cause they hate them!)

Your Windows Phone put any Android phone to shame.

Would have been better if they left it where it was with the functions it had...

The volume and brightness sliders are hard to read. I can play around with themes but I wish the bars were thicker (taller?)

Which ones..., the ones in the System Tray or the OSD ones, or both?

Yeah, the line is kinda faint..., depends on the theme and colors, I guess...

It should have a circle, like in the SysTray...
