I've been getting this message for all of today when opening the money app. It was fine yesterday and every day before.

As a check I quickly installed the app onto a different PC running W11 (but not updated to the quite the latest build) and see the exact same there. So it would appear to be an app issue. The Store tells me the app was updated today.

I found another user with an identical issue on the Microsoft sites:

No resolution was found.

I have 'fixed' this by restoring back to a disk image made the day before the update. All good. I have disabled store updates yet again.

As mentioned in post #1, the issue was present on a pc that had never had Money installed previously. Installing the latest version give the error on that pc as well. The W11 build of that PC is an earlier build than this one.

I did a bit more investigating on the 2nd PC and have found the problem seems related to the language settings used within the app itself. UK English breaks the latest app update. Setting it to United States English allows it to open correctly.

Is this app even supported now?

I'm shocked if it is!

I assume so, never really thought about it tbh though. It was updated yesterday and that's when it broke. Of course just changing the language isn't the answer because it then loads the incorrect regional info. I've reported it on the feedback hub. We'll see...

I'm back to manually updating apps now, what with the Calendar issues last week, now this.

I swear I used it a long time ago and it wouldn't work then which is why I got rid of it. A post in the MS community from May 2022

Interesting, I've used it for several years now and not had any issues before.

It seems to get updated fairly regularly with the existing version I have last updating on 7th Jan 2023

Hopefully a final update on this. I've been running with app updating turned off since posting this. Today I tried opening the Money app on the test PC which still had the 'faulty' app installed. Surprisingly it opened OK. Nothing had changed system wise apart from 3 weeks passing.

I've updated the app on my main PC and that now works OK as well. I'm pretty sure its still the same version. Very odd indeed. I've no explanation.

I just re-installed the app and it does appear to be working... at the moment at least

Odd isn't it.

Is there any possibility this issue could be down to something like an app related DNS issue and/or ISP anomaly? I did try a DNS flush and changing DNS settings but no joy at the time.

My ISP is BT.

This did still occur though with a fresh W11 install and clean install of the app. A few have complained of this issue but not the hundreds you expect to see if its a universal problem.

Resurrecting this thread as the app seems broken again although this time it opens OK but selecting any news item just gives a blank screen and spinning disc. The store shows it was a couple of weeks ago since last update so I'm guessing its not that.

As always I tried it on another PC and that is the same.

It's working for me in the UK. Several weeks ago it would not show my watchlist after an update but that eventually started working a few days later.

Thanks Steve, its still not working for me. The home page opens OK but click any item and it just goes to a blank page as per image I posted above.

Can you click any of these home page items and get them to open?
