So about 5 months ago my computer blue screened out of nowhere for the first time. At the time i just restarted my computer and that would solve the issue for a couple of days where it would just happen again. About 4 months ago I reinstalled windows and all the files on my computer hoping it would solve the issue. after only 15 minutes it happened again. After that, I had given up on my pc till about 2 weeks ago. Where I found that I forgot to take the seal off my m.2 leaving it to melt against my motherboard. I replaced it and it didn't fix anything. Next, I noticed when all 4 sticks of ram were in my pc with XMP enabled it would cap at 2133Mhz. When I removed the 2x8GB 3600Mhz sticks the other 2x8GB 3200Mhz would run at the advertised frequency without issue for about a week. Just to the blue screen around 25 times today trying to set up my Valve Index up again. I don't know what to do anymore and I'm hoping someone will be able to help.

I have my i9-9900k overclocked to 5100Mhz on all cores and when I don't it blue screens anyway. I've also tried taking the overclock off but it didn't do anything.
My system is about 3 years old upgraded most of the parts and am not sure what's under warranty.
Also it normally happens while gaming

Hi,
Mixing ram hardly ever works at default xmp

So were either 2x8 3600 or 2x8 3200 memory bought as a kits or did you you mix those as well ?

Cpu chips do degrade after time.

By the way it's Black screen not blue screen
MS default color is blue so they changed it to black so people can tell the difference lol

Hi,
Running two sticks usually need to be in exact designed slots
So do you have the on line manual and confirmed which slots to use for two or even single memory ?

So i did what you said and it worked amazingly. until i decided to go tinkering. i found out the first dimm slot on my motherboard was the cause of my blue screening cause my pc wouldn’t boot and would bluescreen. so i’ve been running 3x8gb corsair vengeance rgb pro. i also went to overclock my 6900xt when i loaded a game my computer froze. i restarted thinking it would fix it. reverted my overclock on my gpu took the third stick out. my computer wouldn’t even get to the sign in page before it would freeze. i evantuslly was able to make it to the point where the only option i had left was to reset my pc and reinstall windows(bad decision to do so). at around 6% installing my computer went black. booted directly into my bios with no boot drives. now everytime i put a usb to reinstall windows it gets stuck on the Republic Of Gamers screen and freezes.

Hi,
There is no three stick supported configuration
Only 1-2 or 4

If you freeze with 1 stick "single channel in slot A2" try a different single stick in the same slot if it does the same repeat ....

If single stick works add a second stick in B2 slot....

Clear cmos as well look in your manual on how.

Already cleared cmos and using the 2 sticks that worked before in the same 2 slots. i’ve also tried doing only one dimm slot. still just freezes on that screen.

Wow, overclocking, M.2 melted to mobo, mixed ram. You've done a lot of gambling with your computer hardware, sir. It appears this is a custom built computer. I would start from the beginning by removing everything down to bare minimal boot requirements with no overclocking, Do an extended stress test on the minimal hardware, and then add components to the system one at a time. In other words, rebuild it from scratch.

video card
Not even a video card if your mobo has onboard graphics available. No drives, either. One stick of ram in slot A2 per@Thrashzone suggestion. Afterwards, see if it still freezes in bios. If it does, replace that one stick of ram with another and check bios again. If it still freezes in bios, it can only be one of two things, your cpu or your motherboard.

@ThrashZone Is that photo of memory slots you posted specific for his motherboard? Sure looks unusual.

my pc wont stop blue screening and ive been trying to fix it for 5 months and im getting tired of it :)
Also if you need the actual monitor specs lmk i just dont feel like finding them
i might be toast
I hope not. You've had so many things going on it's a crapshoot whether the melted m.2 caused the mobo to fail or the extreme overclocking destroyed the cpu. Hopefully, it's not an unusual case of both. Not likely, but possible. Good luck.

Hi,
Yes a typical dual channel Asus mother board think that image is from a asus formula

There have been weird reports and swapping to the other two slots might work being A1 and B1

But most likely is memory is just not compatible or board is gone
I'd bet on the mother board gone.
