Hello,
my new pc shows black screen ,, i changed my single 16gb ram slot ,, cleaned it and also updated msi bios flash to latest ,bios also said successful with ez flash.

one thing worked, i removed rtx 3060 gpu and removed cmos battery and put it back again ,, my pc turns on , but again after couple of days , same issue i keep getting black screen.

In a week happens thrice. Now i bought new cmos battery and replaced.. now before having put new cmos ,, i shorted jbat1 jumper with metal and also disconnected cpu power on mobo ( big and small ones from psu) and i clicked cpu power button discharged any electrical left ,, waited for 30mins..
now i placed back the new cmos batttery and then gpu , i switched on my pc it worked.. but still black screen wont disappear,, on mobo debug led cpu is always white and stuck there unless i keep removing cmos battery and put it back,, my pc wont' start. Please help.. hope you understood my issue.. thank you

Hello and welcome to the forum. First let me say your issue would get more response if it was in the BSOD section of the forum. I will flag @z3r010 to see if he deems it needs to be moved. I am also flagging @zbook who can better advise you what you need to do. If you are unable to get into windows you won't be able to furnish the log files required but he may have some advice for you.

In the meantime, I am not an expert on BSOD but I did find limited troubleshooting info when I pulled up your mobo manual.
This first screen shot relates to the debug leds. The way I see it, depending on which light is on, the mobo points to a different piece of troublesome hardware.

This page relates to any beep codes you may hear..

If you are unable to get to the root of the problem, this is the MSI support page for your mobo. All the way at the bottom is a link for a Hotline number where you can speak with MSI support. They can assist you in troubleshooting as well. GOOD LUCK!

hi thanks for the reply, I am able to access pc as it runs normal whenever i remove cmos battery and put it back,, the pc does work normal and fast too and also i dont see lag,, i saw your screen shot i have only one stick 16gb ram ,, so i tried placing it into differnt slot too , sometimes it works booting me to windows or else i do the cmos removal/ placing back thing to work to boot, but usually its cmos battery placing only works for me,,

should i disable/off ez led on mobo from your screen shot or from bios, ?. because i have that option, that way will i be able to boot without any issues with those lights everytime i see while boot , even under normal circumstances. Please let me know /

Also i dont hear any beeps sound you mentioned.. its just that CPU DEBUG LIGHT ALWAYS ON irritates me..

once am into windows 11, everything is normal, no lag nothing even under stress,, also i dont play games,, just do normal blender work and watching movies.. please share me your insight how to get resolving this issue ,, Many thanks again.

If it is the cpu debug light that is on every time, that's the direction one would look to. The manual clearly says : Indicates cpu not detected or fail. To me that means the mobo can not communicate with the cpu for whatever reason, ie: defective cpu or defective mobo, possibly even a PSU or grounding issue. You could even have a bent pin on the cpu. Removing the AC power and CMOS battery discharges all the residual power to the capacitors so it could even be a flaky capacitor or cmos chip.

CPU DEBUG LIGHT ALWAYS ON irritates me..
You could run a test with the ez lights temporarily disabled to see if it makes a difference with the black screen but they are there for a reason. Irritation only is not a reason to disable them. They are telling you something is wrong as you clearly have a serious hardware problem.

This brings up a lot of questions for me. Did you build this PC yourself? When did you build it; Did you 'put it together and go' or did you run it through the proper hardware testing during build? Are you overclocking? Has it ever worked 100% correctly? These questions are all pertinent when troubleshooting something like this.

Good at least that you can boot into windows. Go to the BSOD section of the forum. At the top of the section are posting instruction for your logfiles. Hopefully, they will provide information that more experienced hardware people than me can analyze.

If you are a novice builder, you may very well have to seek professional assistance to sort this out because so many variables are involved. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Is the white LED for the CPU? On my Asus motherboards, it's for the graphics adapter. I didn't find a description of the colors in the manual for your MSI board.

On my Asus X570 board, the white LED sometimes stays lit, even though the system boots into Windows. A restart fixes that. It doesn't happen often enough that I've been motivated to find a fix.

There is something wrong with the manual for that board on the MSI website - the LED colors aren't printed (don't show).

On my Pro Z790-A WiFi board the colors are:
Red: CPU
Yellow: DRAM
White: VGA/GPU
Green: BOOT (bootable device found)

If this is the same with your board (and inexplicably, not all MSI boards use the same colors!) then that means the POST has failed in initiating the GPU.
Your symptoms seem to confirm this.

So, there are two possibilities: bad Video Card (or not seated correctly), or bad Power Supply (not powering the card correctly). Be sure you have the correct PCIe power connector(s) plugged in.

Can you borrow another known good video card to test with? (unfortunately the Ryzen processor has no graphics).
Another power supply?

I had this exact problem with a EBay bought new..ish EVGA RTX3070ti graphic card. Boot would fail... sometimes and sometimes quiet a few restarts to get into Windows 11.
System worked fine with the old card EVGA GTX1080sc.

EVGA swapped my RTX 3070ti for a new one under warranty, problem solved :-)

Another plus 1 for EVGA's warranty support(y)

Like you I tried fault finding all the usual suspects... including buying a new power supply.

Like you I tried fault finding all the usual suspects... including buying a new power supply.
hi ,, mine is new pc whole.. and i have only debug cpu white light issue,, does that mean even gpu is failing ? ,, if sure my gpu fails will they refund money? coz i want to put some extra money and buy rx 6700xt .. it will be more future prooff
i dont even know cpu or mobo or gpu or psu which one is culprit .. i hate this gen pc and future gen pc.. i see many have my issues similar,, today people just want to make money instead of quality product..... so much talk for new pc haha

It might be a Nvidia bug. I was using the display port. Every thing else had been tested to death:woozy:. Card was not picking up the display? therefore stopping boot at VGA light
New exchange card from EVGA booted straight away, go figure.

So I would sent the Graphics card back... if you can, get what you really wanted

If it's not working properly ask them to swap card for another. I take it that it's stopping at the VGA debug light?
In my system cpu had built in graphics, so removing the EVGA GPU, system booted fine on internal gpu, putting the card back in failed to boot.
Have you contacted Palit? to get a RMA.

If you bought your graphics card from a major electronics retailer then you will just be trading the old card for a new one when you initiate the RMA to return it. It is not like they test your card to see if it is really broken before deciding to send you a new one. They don't have time for that. They wait to see that they actually get the old card and then send out the replacement.
Typically they will then test the returned product and if the product works correctly they will brand it refurbished and resell it that way. But they want to keep their customers happy and get good reviews so it is normally a no questions asked policy if it is within the normal return period - usually 30 days.
Smaller, less well known retailers may have a different policy.
