My RTX 4060 RGB No Longer Works...

For a back story check my post Planning A New Build in late January Not a big deal that I don't see it. The card works just fine. I was going thru a standard cleaning and when I booted up the RGB was gone. This is the duster I use.

Never had a problem with any of my PC's using this tool. Yet the RGB stopped after cleaning the card. As was mentioned the card works as it should but no RGB. I would like to know how cleaning the card would stop the RGB from working?

I Googled “RGB on GPU stopped working after dusting it
I was surprised that there were results.

Does that duster blow or vacuum or both?

There might be a tiny internal connector for the RGB... like a mini 3 or four pin fan plug.
I would get a bright LED flashlight. Take the card out and peer down inside, around the edges.

If worse comes to worst, you may have to take the card's shroud off to see and/or get at the connector.

You should be able to find youtubes showing how to disassemble your make/model of vid card, if necessary.

Assuming the fans still work, it almost has to be some tiny connector.

Was the RGB not working immediatly after cleaning? Was there a software update involved?

Another comment re your card

I have your exact GPU and my aero rgb light stopped working weeks ago after an APP Center update. Everything else works fine except the rgb lights on my GPU.

Which brand is it, Lance? I just want to read the specs/manual and look for any pin’s @Ghot mentioned.

There was a Nvidia GeForce experience update. But when that happened the RGB was working. It only stopped after the cleaning.

It also could just be something that got blown in there, that's shorting some microscopic pins or something.
Ya know, something like a beard whisker or a cat hair. :D



I was blowing out a Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler once, and somehow, blew dust into the fan bearings.
They were just cheap bearings and the dust killed the fan rather quickly. :(


Like the bumper sticker says: S _ _ t happens. :-)



Really short version... it could just be a temporary problem, or it could be permanent.
You could probably just RMA the vid card also. It should still be under warranty.

Once you take out certain screws on the vid card, you'll void the warranty, so keep that in mind.

I’m guessing the LED pins are incorporated into the power cable? Did it come with an adapter cable?

Check for any bent pins. So easy to do and hard to see those pesky little…

I read mention of that also. One mention of the lights randomly working again after a period of time, then vanished again. And with that they said “So I don’t think it’s a hardware issue” I am not sure how they concluded to that?
