Please guys, i need just a little help here. Running Windows 21H2 build 22000.469
Yes I've flipped the switch [on the side of the laptop]

This HP Spectre 15-eb1*** has NO camera in Device Manager. NO imaging device except a printer. There is no "Camera" category in Device Manager. I have exposed all hidden devices, and run down the ones that were cryptic and none of those devices is a camera. I know where the physical switch is and flipped it. I do not know if the switch itself is good:: the only indication is a simple cam icon that is either clear when you flip "on", or slashed when switch "off". There is no cam LED lit. all camera settings in "Settings" are promiscuous. There is no virus nor antivirus problem. The system is lightly used, no iffy programs or services. There are no settings in BIOS camera-related.
The BIOS is updated to the latest: when I first started working on it, it had the immediate predecessor BIOS.

I have no way of knowing what device [mftr, HW ID, anything] is SUPPOSED to be there, because HP only lists Windows 10 versions [3] and one entry for Windows 11: NONE OF which show a camera driver anywhere in the stack of drivers, so it is possible that it is aggregated under some other driver install package but nothing in the descriptions even hints at such.
I have working examples of HP's with CAmeras working, and one is Generic [that is, using a basic MS driver] and the other is Realtek. I can force-load those drivers but no devices found. It smells like a BIOS issue, but I have had this same sort of mystery with BT radios a number of times: NO clue anywhere to the device's existence UNTIL the device install package is found and run, then it appears.

If you have a Spectre laptop could you please post the Driver detail?

thank you for this.
unfortunately it is a card reader driver, not a camera
All you should have to do is attach the card reader to the USB port and transfer the images. I do a similar thing with my camera but I can plug the camera directly to my PC with a cable.

No drivers are needed to accomplish this.

Is your computer new and the camera is not detected or did your have a working camera driver before you upgraded from 10 to 11. If it disappeared after an upgrade, then something may have gone wrong during the upgrade process. Otherwise, I would lean toward it being a hardware issue, either a loose cable on the mobo, a defective camera, or a mobo problem. Normally, Windows 10 and 11 both automatically detect a camera using the driver from their database.

The OP is looking for a webcam driver for his laptop. The driver in post 2 is for a built-in card reader.

Hello! Press F10 while booting to go to BIOS. Have a look if the camera is disabled from there. Also have a look at your F1, F2 etc keys. One of them might toggle the camera on/off. The key should work either alone or with FN, depending on setting. I have seen a couple of models that they have a F key to switch on/off the camera and a physical switch. Both must be on for camera to work. After the camera is detected, try installing the Windows 10 driver from HP's site.

I have an HP Spectre X360 13 and Windows loaded all drivers. Could you reinstall 10, copy the driver and then reinstall 11?

I think the problem of the OP is that the camera is not detected at all, not missing driver. If it is enabled in BIOS and with both the physical switch and the F key and again is not detected we have a rare case of wrong chipset drivers. In this rather rare case, installing the latest official chipset drivers should fix the issue and the camera will be detected. In worst case, reinstall Windows 11 and before doing anything else update the chipset drivers, as any other drivers depend on that.

The finale was that there are issues with several HP models that the cable simply detaches - the connector has no screws [too tight of a space], relying on a defective adhesive and the proximity of the display panel back to hold it in place. I think that is the issue with this.
All the above advice is sound [most anyway] but in this model there is nothing in ami BIOS about camera. Nothing in hidden devices. Nothing anywhere recorded because it is all reliant on detection.
A helpful soul on another forum, with a WORKING example of this model confirmed what I thought about driver, just relying on the windows catalog to select one, a Microsoft published driver that identifies the dev as a HP HD cam [note not even FHD... in a 1600 dollar unit]. It was actually somewhat tedious finding anyone that first, had a clue whether their Spectre x360 unit had a working cam.
The model is pretty easy to make a big mess of if you open it up - out-of-warranty HP does an owner the "favor" of diagnosis for $200, with the owner responsible for shipping both ways! lol

All you should have to do is attach the card reader to the USB port and transfer the images. I do a similar thing with my camera but I can plug the camera directly to my PC with a cable.

No drivers are needed to accomplish this.
I think the camera is built into the laptop.
