Anyone get network sharing to work in Windows 11? It comes up with the username and password box but says The Username or password is incorrect. I think I will use teamviewer at least it works. Networking has always been difficult using Windows.

Not difficult here. All 3 of my PC's were on Win 10, and now 1 is on Win 11.

From Explorer, type in the PC ID \\name, and enter the login credentials, and click remember. It will then show under Network whenever Explorer is opened and that PC is active on the network.

Four running PCs here, all talking and sharing: two on W11 (one compliant; one not fully); two on W10, all Pro.

Only thing I've noticed (and I've posted about it here) is that while Network windows in 10 always (well, almost always) showed the base computer along with the others on the network, 11 never shows the base (the one I'm looking at the Network window ON), just the others it can reach out to. I never quite understood why 10 had a PC show itself on the Network, so the 11 way makes more sense to me.

To make your life easier, you can remove the login requirement from Advanced Sharing Settings. Go to the for all networks section at the bottom and turn off to ask for a password. You have to do that on all computers on the network. Also make sure the network is set to private. Public will not let you browse resources.

Legacy MBR installation, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no WDDM 2.0 graphics drivers, cannot get more unsupported ;) This is only my test laptop. I had installed Windows 11 here before upgrading my main PC. For my main PC I use everyday see my 2nd system specs.

Solved my networking issues, connecting to drives on my laptops and connecting through Remote Desktop Connection by turning off Only allow connections from computers running Remote Desktop.
