New computer - error any scan attempt

OS
Windows 10
Windows 22H2
2 month old Lenovo desktop

Both HP printers (8740 & 8740) are installed - wireless - home network. All computers (10 & 11) print and scan successfully to the printers except the Lenovo desktop.

Any attempt to scan from the desktop fails immediately either producing a Scan Error (I can dig up the number but I already searched on it + scan and all and I mean all search results were associated with Windows Update - no scan) or 'the printer isn't connected or turned on'. Which is nutty given the printers are connected and print just fine from the Lenovo laptop.

Further nuttiness... The Windows Scan app and a free scan util from the MS store (the same one that threw the Scan Error and number from her desktop) scan just fine from 2 new Lenovo Win 11 laptops and a Dell Win 10 laptop to both the same network, wireless printers.

Ok, I'll try and clarify and specify.
I've used HP printers in our home and business consistently for over 25 years. And I have *always, including now, only used HP's driver set and mostly the downloaded full set when installing the devices. Starting with Windows 11 I initially installed the two printers using Add Device and HP drivers present with the OS.
But with Win11 after I added the printers scanning was not clearly an option. I used to be able to right click HP scan under Start Programs and get the scan shortcut on the desktop or even better download HP scan extended that provided an initial interface for Both printers to scan.
Now no longer. If I'm wrong here and there is a reasonable way to use a native HP scan app I would gladly welcome the information.
Additionally, even when I click on 'there's an app available' which is HP Smart, either the app cannot find the printers that are already installed and working as printers and using HP drivers or I cannot find how and where one ends up with a scan desktop shortcut!
And the foregoing folks is the how and why I'm left to go searching for a third party scan app.

Having been down this rabbit hole before.... :( HP Wireless is very fickle...
How far in distance between Lenovo and printer?
Do you use WSD? (Windows managed devices)
Wireless signal strength can be ok to print but NOT scan!!
Use HP print doctor app to install devices!
Don't let Windows manage your printers... it will keep wanting to install from the MS store apps!
Check WiFi channels on your router, scan with a mobile phone app to find if your neigbours are on the same...
Are you using 2.4 or 5Ghz?
Buy a WiFi booster and place half way between PC and WiFi router

Backstory, My friend owns 2 laptops and an iPad. Laptops one has Win 11 and the other Win 10. Modem Router is down stairs.
At my friends 2 storey house, she had the Laptop downstairs and the All in one upstairs (about 10 metres in distance thru ceilings and 2 brick walls)
With the units side by side and using the HP print doctor, would install the drivers, and you could scan from Windows scan app no problem.
Move the printer upstairs, still scan ok. The following day Windows scan app failed.. no scanner found (would still print ok!). Windows had installed the MS store app HP AIO software!o_O
Uninstalled the app, redid the HP print Doctor, scanner found again!
Rinse and repeat !! the following day:what:
Installed a Wireless repeater, Turned off WSD on the printer.

Rabbit hole-- you got that right.
Clarifications:
1. WiFi not the problem. The DSL modem and Google Mesh base are in the same room as the computers and printers. Plus, a Win7 and 2 Win10 computers are in the same room and print/scan fine and generally always have.
2. I learned real quick that WSD is not to be trusted after a word doc was sent to the Dymo label writer.

3. Crucial Issue. I need to get rid of all HP related programs on the Win11 machines before I install the full HP current package.
But I cannot. Whereas all prior Windows versions, go to uninstall and do so for each listed component.
That ablity is no longer present in 11??? Go to Control Panel/Uninstall and there is zero listing of any HP products. Go to Settings/Apps/Uninstall and the same-- No HP products.
On the Settings/Devices/Printers there is no Uninstall feature just Remove which is useless for my need.

Try removing/uninstall printer/scanner from "Device manager" remember to use "View" then "Show hidden devices". Also make sure the machine is disconnected from the internet, otherwise it's back to square one.

Have you tried Revo Uninstaller?... just a thought.

Before I try Device manager, another question or two.

With the full HP package for each printer downloaded and I then turn off WiFi and start the install, I'm thinking the process will require connectivity during the install so HP can immediately begin selling print cartridges and unneeded software/accessories. No?

I used Revo uninstaller a lot years ago but stopped using it. If memory serves, the app only did really well *if you installed the problematic software after Revo was installed otherwise Revo said the uninstall would not be complete. Is there a particular reason using Revo v Device manager would be any better?

Lastly, Print Doctor. I've downloaded and tried it a number of times over time to solve a printer problem. It never seemed to do any good and *always wanted to update the printer which is when I would stop and uninstall the app. Frankly, I do not remember ever seeing an option to use Print Doctor from the start to install a printer. And again given my past experiences I'm not wild about using the software.

Just for info, as above I don't allow Windows to manage default printer either and it's been a while since I've installed a HP printer driver. It has been given a fixed IP address and sleep disabled if it has the option. Scans and prints anywhere in the house just using the App 🤷‍♂️

Fabler2--

2 questions--

I don't get why you circled your HP Envoy/driver missing?

Also, does that SCAN button commence the scan installer and does the install result in a desktop shortcut for scanning?
