New HP Laptop Media Player won't open

New HP laptop with WIn 11 22H2 and MS Office. Everything seems to run well but I can't open media player. I tried unchecking media player in windows features and then rechecking it. That didn't work. I expanded option on the app and clicked uninstall which didn't appear to do anything. I went to the microsoft store and selected install but it doesn't want to open. A faint square flashes briefly but the app does not open. On my Win10 machine the app opens in a square blue window. Any ideas or suggestions. I don't have any data on the machine yet. I have my drivers backed up so I'm open to a repair install or clean install

Try running the following in a PowerShell Admin then go to the Store and re-download it.

Try visiting the HP website and look for any updated drivers that may be available. I have posted a link below for their site. Additionally, you may want to consider either exchanging the unit or having the vendor fix the problem.
