Hi All-

Wife got a new lenovo Yogo PC and didnt set the PIN for Windows Hello. Now that its rebooted, its asking for a PIN that was never set up. Any way to get around the windows hello Pin or default the entire PC to start over?

Are you using Microsoft account or local account?

What happens when you click Enter key when promoted to enter the PIN?

You should see an option to enter user account password to login.

When you click the Icon to enter the pin, nothing happens. Im assuming thats becuase it was never sent. The only 2 options showing for login, are face recgnition and Pin. And for some reason it isnt picking up on her face. It nots on the login screen the only way to login is with a PIN, which was never set and doesnt show us the option to set it.

Make sure to press Enter key to skip PIN prompt.

Is your wife setup local or Microsoft account?

A pin can also be a password. Try the password for the microsoft account to reset it. That's the account she probably created or signed into when setting up the pc.

It was set up, it has to be. You cannot add a password or pin to an account without actually setting it up.

yes, I believe she originally put in her MS account info. When she went to retype it, she said her account was locked and she submitted it for review to MS Im assuming. When the PC boots, there are 2 options. Face and PIN. Face isnt recognizing/working, and when clicking PIN nothing happens because it wasnt set up. A box doesnt even show up to enter anything.

There is no submitting for review? I am not sure what you are talking about. follow the tutorial to reset the pin:

Microsoft account and PIN should have option use password or click I Forget my PIN option.
Thats the issue. When clicking the PIN button, nothing happens. She doesnt remember her MS account password, and when you enter an email to recover it, the email says they dont have enough info to prove we own that email address. We're literally in a loop of no access. Thats why I was wondering if theres a way to default the PC and start over or add another user account.

AH. I see what you mean. If you dont want to wait for microsoft support, Hold down Shift and click the power button and choose restart while holding down shift. From the windows troubleshoot menu, choose troubleshoot and reset this pc. You can then wipe the pc and start over.

If she created a brand new microsoft account before for this pc you can forget it and create a new one and then delete the other account on the web at a later time.

If she has another email account with google or anything else you can create an account with that email.

When creating a microsoft account make sure to add a phone number and recovery options so this does not happen again. I'm guessing like most people she rushed through it and that's how you got locked out. Just take your time creating the account.

You should be good to go then :)
