Feature updates​

Office Suite​

  • Automatically insert image captioning for Excel's images: Insert image into Excel's spreadsheet and accessibility image captioning is automatically generated for you.

Resolved issues​

Access​

  • We fixed an issue where Datasheet displayed incorrect record when simultaneous entries were submitted to SQL Server.
  • We fixed an issue where when opening a report in Print Preview on 64-bit Access caused an error message to appear.

Excel​

  • We fixed an issue where Excel might close unexpectedly when loading foreign files while there are drawing objects in the active sheet.

Word​

  • Resolved an issue where using Word VBA function InsertFile to insert .docx file would result in 'Error: 5097 - Word has encountered a problem'.

To join the Office Insider program, you must have a subscription version of Office. A subscription to Office delivers the latest features on an ongoing basis.

If you see 2016, 2019, 2021, or LTSC in the license name, this indicates a perpetual (non-subscription) version of Office. A perpetual license includes features that have been tested and shipped at a point in time; it doesn’t change until the next perpetual version of Office is released. Because this version of Office does not get feature updates, you won’t see the option to join the Office Insider program.
