Solved New to Foxit PDF Reader: Settings file?

After seeing a lot of positive commentary on Foxit Reader on this forum and on Ask Woody forums, I decided to try it out. Really nice. Got the portable from PortableApps.com, and spent a couple of hours configuring and customizing it. But now I want to move this installation (copy it, whatever) to my other office machine, and I can't find a file/folder that stores all of my customizations. Can't find it on the Web. Many here use Foxit PDF Reader, so someone must know how I can set up Foxit on my other machine and make it a copy of my initial installation.

Help appreciated, as always.

Just a shot in the dark: If it's portable, shouldn't you be able to copy the whole folder over to the other machine?

Thank you, my friend from my home province. I tried that, and it worked perfectly. All the good settings I made in the first copy were copied, and all my mistakes, too. Kept the former; corrected the latter on both machines, and Voila! (or as some here say, "Viola!"), I had a matched pair.

I like this program. I've been using PDF-XChange Editor (free) for years, and it has always been an irritation that when I try something perfectly ordinary and then save the edited file, PDF-XChange Editor marks the saved file with watermarks that are large and distracting and annoying (doesn't do that in the quite expensive paid version, ofc). Then I've had to go to one of the excellent online watermark-removing sites and wipe the watermarks. Bet I've done that fifty times, and stayed with the program just because it offered everything I needed. Now I'm thinking (on the basis of limited experience) that Foxit PDF Reader Portable does all the things I need it to do, and without annoying watermarks.

To add, the several PortableApps programs I have on a USB drive only need a shortcut where desired to get them running, reduce the scrolling to the folder holder the program's .exe file.

Just because an as app says it is portable doesn't mean it doesn't store custom configuration information in the registry or in places like appdata or programdata. You might check there.

Thanks. Well aware of that fact. I’m currently running 35 portables and 5 installed programs on both my office computers, and only a few of my portables write to the registry. Those that do, annoy me just enough to motivate me to write to their devs about it. A true portable shouldn’t leave tracks in the registry IMO. Sometimes the devs respond positively. Sometimes.

Do you get full editing capabilities without a watermark with that Foxit?

Yep. So far, I’ve tried about ten things that left marks in PDF-XChange, and none of them have produced defaced documents in Foxit.

Just a final note. For the China-wary here, it's clear that Foxit is basically Chinese.

But, in the four hours or so I've had it on my machines and open, the only time it has phoned home is when I checked for updates. I'll continue to monitor it, but so far, I think there's absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

I don't edit many PDF's, but, when I must, I like it to look somewhat professional...,
Foxit tools are a bit more sophisticated than the likes of Sumatra, or others! And, no watermark!

It is a good product, but that has made me real nervous. They still could drop some malware via an update. If there were something free nearly as good I would be using it.
