I've checked the drivers in device manager and all looks fine. I installed everything from the motherboard install disc. The two stereo stereo speakers worked before the upgrade on two computers. I've even updated the bios but still nothing. Any suggestions are welcomed Thanks! :-) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088W7RKVZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

There's 5 1/8" ports on that board and the light green one is for a set of speakers or a headset. There's usually a set of pins for plugging in a cable for the port on the front of the case. A lot of times the installation of Windows will pick that port, maybe install drivers from the Internet. Or the boards used to come with a CD holding the necessary drivers. When I see hardware issues I boot to a Linux LiveUSB Thumb drive to check if things on a board are working.

I never installed any front ports. The manual also states that the black port is for a speaker on the rear but it does nothing either. I'm suppose to receive a new monitor tomorrow. It has built in speakers hopefully, I get sound out of that. I'd hate to think I bought a new motherboard with faulty audio circuits.

My 21" HP Compaq, 24" Dell and 27" ASUS monitors have built-in speakers and they use a male-to-male cable from the computers.

You know, I never checked to see how that monitor gets its signal. I hope it feeds from the HDMI cable. If not, I still won't have any audio.

Not from here, i got it from the ASUS site. Mine is the model without the built in wi-fi. I don't know if that's the only difference. Yeah, your link is where I got it from.

The Line out is Green(Lime), 2 channel.
That is what the manual says. P2-17, 18, 19. (or P2-14, 15, 16). Complete with explanatory diagrams. A well known standard.

Black is wrong, that is for the Rear speaker of a 4 channel, 5.1 channel, or 7.1 channel surround sound speaker system.

When I remove the plug from the output jack, I get a pop up telling me I unplugged it. So I guess the speaker is being recognized or at least the plug is.

You haven't mentioned what you see in the Sound control panel.

Is the onboard sound selected? You've configured it as Stereo?
