Hello:
No IPv6 on DSL Broadband Connect (PPPoE DHCPv6-PD), while LAN IPv6 is OK (i-040gw get 2 prefix (one for CPE use, one for lan use) from PPPoE DHCPv6-PD (Wan1 PPPoE Vlan 4082) (The CPE also has 3 WAN interface. The other 2 are the Wan3 PPPoE pass through Vlan 4082, and Wan2 IPoE Vlan 4081), and offer SLAAC+DHCP statless+RDNSS) From 194 to 282.
The other 2 PCs connect to the same CPE(Alcatel i-040gw) on Window 10 21H1 are OK (Though the PPPoE DHCPv6-PD IPv6 address have a static suffix, only prefix changes on every Broadband Dial up).
But the PC which is tricked (Bypass TPM and Secure Boot) to install the Windows 11 has no default IPv6 gateway, no IPv6 dns, no IPv6 global address (Link-local one only). (IPv4 is OK PPPoE and LAN on 3 PCs) The detail window of the Broadband connect shows the server IPv6 address which should be the default gateway. (It's just the same as the PPPOE WAN default gateway in the CPE. So the PPPOE router advertisement should work, but the PC doesn't set it as the default gateway.)

The DHCPv6 client log shows that the M flag changes or something in the LAN interface just as while the PC was on windows 10, and there is a little on the ppp interface.
Or there are RA from the CPE(From PPPoE) to LAN and the one from Windows PPPoE interact with each other? How could I make them apart?
If the problem caused by the vlan tag needed by the ISP? It seems to be a old problem from windows 7 according to some sites. The Windows listen to tagged and untagged packets.
(Tried intel proset 26.6 to create vlan id (4082 for PPPoE) which are set on the CPE, but only the untagged one is OK, the virtual adapters which have vlan have no global ipv4 nor global ipv6.)
The windows 11 seems to block the ICMPv6 NS?

Does Windows 11 have an familiar problem just as the Windows 1607? did?
Tried closing the system firewall to make sure the DHCPv6 and router advertisement not blocked, but no difference.

It seems to also be the familiar problem in the Windows 10 1809 17763 before the .402 patch.
"Addresses an issue that prevents applications and callers from connecting to destination endpoints when they use network interfaces that don’t have a default gateway. This issue affects the following:
Internet access fails on devices with DSL modems and PPPoE dial-up Internet connections (commonly used with DSL modems).
Modern and Microsoft Store apps behave as if there is no Internet access on devices with DSL modems. "
But tried to open the ICMPv6 and no helps.

By the way, trying to used the PPPOE IPV4 and LAN IPv6 at the same time, while just unchecking disable the using remote gateway in the IPv6 in the PPPOE Broadband adapter. And it's really strange that the ipv6-test site show there are no icmpv6 filter (Score 20) while using the method.

Thanks

Interesting though, I'm facing the same problem too when trying to connect using a PPPoE connection on a freshly upgraded Windows 11 machine (no bypass), only got IPv4 but no IPv6 address except for a link local one. My other laptop which is still running on Windows 10 (21H1) works fine as well as the CPE and routers that used a direct PPPoE connection. All of them got public IPv6 without a problem so I doubt this is problem on the ISP's side. I'm staring to think if any network-related OS settings could have changed since the upgrade.

I recently discovered that I'm having the same problem with my W11 machines while other devices have no problem obtaining one on the same network.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

unsupported machine: Legacy bios, MBR, TPM 1.2, upgraded from W10 to W11 using W10/W11 hybrid install media workaround. In-place upgrade to 22H2 using ISO and a workaround. Feature Update to 23H2 by manually installing the Enablement Package.

I'm fairly certain that I've figured out what's wrong with my pc's and its called McAfee Endpoint Security (government edition) which requires an IPv4 connection. Even my W10 laptop has dropped the IPv6 connection just the same way and the only common thing between them all is the security software.

Edit: I uninstalled the firewall module and IPv6 was restored on my W10 laptop. Now I need to find some new security software and I will remove it from the rest of my machines. I was running it because I do government work on them but I'm not going to allow it to kill my IPv6 connection.

Yeah that makes sense. I don't use McAfee or anything, but they cause a lot of problems with internet connections, websites, etc.

I even tried modifying the firewall rules and it still wouldn't allow a connection until I disabled it on my W11 pc's.
