OS
windows 11 and Ubuntu
Hi all this is my first time on the site so thanks for the add. This is also the first time in a long time i have had a windows system, the last one was windows XP i believe. any how i decided to step back in when i built a new system with a duel boot windows 11 /Ubuntu install. The install went ok, and the system seem to be working great. At this point it is a windows 11 only system, i have not yet set up the duel boot. There is however one issue, there is no screen sleep. when i go into power plans this what i am greeted with, "your power plan information isn't available. rpc server is unavailable." Any help would be great thanks.

Hi. I saw a similar post where this issue was resolved by importing a reg key that reset the power settings...

There is a key for "Power" but it's for Windows 8. You may want to check if a Win 11 key is floating around.

Thanks again rick, i did try this but get this error "Unable to perform operation. An unexpected error (0x6ba) has occurred: The RPC server is unavailable." so leads me to think that the second part of the first error i got (rpc server is unavailable.) is the one i need to fix. any thought?

Open Admin Powershell or Command Prompt:

powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

Then check if it succeeded:

powercfg -l

Look in services and see if Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is running.

Should be set to automatic.
