Hi,

Just noticed this recently that i am unable to see all types of video thumbnails in windows explorer (just see icons) pictures are fine.

Not sure if this happened from a Windows 11 update or not tried googling it just get usual solutions which i tried all of these with no solutions so far.

Any help is appreciated as do not see much here on it yet.

Bat file did not work either. Wonder if it is Windows 11 or somehow some program i uninstalled did this with video thumbnails only.

Maybe the Icaros app (to install or portable) could fix that.
(more recent beta versions also available) with trying to disable then enable back thumbnails.

Still incredible that W11 doesn't natively integrates the display of video posters when available, in stead of random screenshots.
I use the Icaros "extension" only, installed with K-Lite Codec pack /standard.
(with ONLY the "Explorer Shell Extension" selected/ticked > Icaros Thumbnail Provider + Property Handler /if you like).
> Movie Posters can easily be added with MKV ToolNix - (Portable version also available with Chocolatey).
(Same goes for SVG display !)

Thanks, but rather not go the way of using an app or codec packs as an alternative to solving the issue.

Completely agree. I always prefer to fix reg commands directly too.
it was just possibility to try out in case no other ways were suggested.

Solved recently with Windows 11 update 22H2. Also possible back then if i reinstalled Windows 11 may have resolved this too.
