Not quite sure you caught the joke in my post?

The standard question back in the day was "Who is better, Blur or Oasis?

I once read a thriller book about some guys crossing the Sahara desert and obviously short of water. They saw mirages of two oases - one was clear, and the other fuzzy, and they had make a decision which one to head for as in opposite directions.

The leader of the group chose the fuzzy one saying "I always preferred Blur to Oasis" LOL.

I can't help thinking the whole mirage part of the story was set up so the author could get that classic line in as a joke!

I got the Blur or Oasis (but I thought in relevance to a blur being inline with an oasis) but had no idea of it's relativity to a band, I've not heard of them "Blur"... no, not to do with Blur the band? You poms and your humor 😄

Actually I detested both Blur and Oasis, only band I hated more was AC/DC which is/was a pile of excessively noisy garbage.

If I ever hear it being played on pub jukebox, I immediately put on Cliff Richard or Rick Astley to annoy whoever selected AC/DC.

If I am really in a mean mood, I put on The Deadwood Stage by Doris Day.

BTW - Beatles joke was good.

In Australia, we have gone nuts on “Medical Centres” They contain no less than 5 or more Dr’s within each local centre, some even have ten.
They’re just local practises.

If I was bored, I could film around the corner from me, within a three minute walk radius, there are 4 of these centres. They are everywhere.
Then a 5 to ten minute drive, there are another 4 and a giant Medical Mall with various surgeries and a multitude of Dr’s and specialists.
We have 5 major hospitals and a new one is being built 5 min away from me. Our main hospital is the Gold Coast University Hospital where they also train interns or postgraduates visiting from overseas. These hospitals are all masive.

But you know what? You still sit in the waiting room for up to an hour or more past your appointment time at the local medical centres waiting for your Dr to call you.

4 medical centres just in my suburb all across the street from each other. On the Gold Coast, there are a lot of suburbs.

Well how crazy is this.

I recently visited my doctor who told me to make a followup appointment and went to reception to make it.

My flabber was gasted when I was told I would have to phone to make an appointment.

So I sat down in reception and called the receptionist on my mobile phone to make the appointment. The look on the receptionist's face was priceless when she realised I was only sitting in reception.
