Solved Office 365 does not uninstall

Hi

I want to switch from office 365 to office2021, but that does not seem possible since office 365 comes up when installing office 2021.

Setup:

1. Office 365 active subscription
2. Mail server: mail.dk
3. Windows11 PC.

Scenario:

1. Deactivate updates in office 365.
2. Uninstall office 365 using Microsoft Support and Recovery Assitant (SARA) - OK.
3. Install office 2021 – OK
4. However when you start outlook after installation of office2021 it is office 365!

Any suggestions?

I did the exact same thing you did. Replaced my monthly subscription from 365 to Office 2021.
I can tell you that it took till the next MS Office update to reflect the change.
It will eventually switch.

I guess this means:
1. just wait until next office update or subscription termination whatever comes first
2. keep office updates enabled
3. when ready I guess I will be prompted for product key to activate office2021?

Yes, your 365 subscription will run until the next billing date, whether or not you do an uninstall.
It then took 3 months of non-renewal to see that subscription disappear from my MS account page leaving only office 2021 displayed.
Don't worry, you are no longer paying for 365, so give it a bit of time.

I have a confusing Office 365 situation. I want to stop 365 and use Office 2019 mainly for Outlook 2019, but I have the license for the Office 2019 Pro suite products. Everytime I start Outlook 2019 is states that I already have Office installed. So I want to cancel my subscription to 365., but she has 800 emails in office 365. I do not want to lose the emails. How do I get them into 2019(I assume to the PST file). Once I stop the subscription to 365 and uninstall it I should be able to install 2019 but with what options. If I configure outlook 2019 to go to the 365 Outlook to get the emails how do I discontinue 365 ever. I am helping a friend to try and resolve this issue. She has a GO DADDY email account and when you open the GO DADDY account there is an icon to open outlook(I am assuming 365), and probably uses email outlook.web(not sure). Now that I confused you is there any great knowledge you can shed in my direction.

As mentioned by OAT you need to wait until office 365 subscription is no longer active.
At that point I would suggest:
If office 2019 account is still Exchange as in office 365:

1. Close outlook and make backup of ost file for the account
2. Uninstall office 365 using the MS SARA tool (or revo uninstaller)
3. Install office 2019
4. Restore ost backup file from (1) to the folder location office 2019 is using
5. Use this link

If office 2019 account is not Exchange account:
1. Close outlook, make backup of ost file for the account and remove account
2. Uninstall office 365 using the MS SARA tool (or revo uninstaller)
3. Install office 2019
4. Recreate account in office 2019
5. Restore ost backup file from (1) to the folder location office 2019 is using

ps: Reason using ost file in (1) instead of backup pst file is that if you import backup pst file, then subfolders are empty and you manually have to copy subfolders.
