Hi
I'm new to W11. My new laptop has preinstalled W11 home 23h2 and I'm using a local account.
Peculiar behavior:
1. I shut the lid. When I open the lid much later, the screen opens with
the image I had selected as background for the lock screen and the time.
If I now tap, windows opens without asking me to login!
2. If I do a full shutdown and then restart Windows,
after booting up the screen opens with the same image and clock as above.
But, if I tap, I now get a screen showing a hint
the next screen is the expected login screen asking me to login with a password.
Data:
in account sign in options: I have password required
in power options, I have close lid -> sleep
(No open lid options available)
Personalization, for lock screen the only thing clicked is
"when my pc is inactive show the lockscreen instead of turning off the screen"
Questions:
1. How do I get the login screen requiring a password to appear when I open the lid without loging out?
2. How do I get access to the open lid settings? I.ve tried several methods from the web and none have worked for me.
3. How do I get rid of the "hint screen" on logging in. I don't need or want it. In W10, hint was not a separate screen preceding the login screen. Instead it was a line under the field requesting a password. That made more sense.
I tried to solve these problems without bothering you guys, but I'm stuck here.
