It used to be that when I wanted to move a message to a folder other than the Inbox I only had, maybe, 2 or 3 choices. Now it seems that the choices keep increasing as I choose a new folder. See inside the Red box in the attachment. Is there a setting in Outlook or the Registry to limit the number of choices back to 2 or 3?

It is Most Recently Used folders.. or MRU in short. It will reapear after you clean it
It is stored in registry: relevant keys and path is in the link below

Maybe it's better to use Outlook tools. It's and app that promise to do this via GUI. Admit: I don't use it and have no idea if it's safe. Virustotal says it's OK, and the site have good reputation.

I read the above link and not sure it is about what I wanted. I do not want to clear any MRU list. I just wanted to limit the choices I show in the RED box in the above attachment. It used to show only 3 or maybe 4 maximum choices to move a file to another folder. Now it seems like the list is unlimited. I have no problem editing the Registry but I have no idea what key would have to be edited to get those choices back to 3 or 4 options.

That list will populate with al the recent folders that you access.

Will do a search about number of items in that list, but think it's about the number you have. I have only 3 or 4, nut I don't use folders in my mailbox much

Edit: MRU is limited to 10 entries. Can't find a way to change it

Thanks for the reply. I have 87 folders not counting the Inbox. I save emails that I deem important and place them in a New folder, if necessary, so in the future it will be easier for me to find them. I have done this for many years and it seems to work out for me. I have never had Outlook list so many of the folders In the list for me to choose from. The Other Folder option was what I used a lot. I think this was a terrible Outlook update and hope it gets corrected or at least find a method to control it.
