Phone link dies again

Is there anything else at all that can be used? Phone link fails again for me. Worked last night for texts. This am, same house, pc, no changes, it can not connect. It has failed on me about 4 times, and each time only complete removal of the program and resetting up makes it work again.

It is one of the worst programs from MS ever. Totally unreliable. My phone is on and texts just fine.

I did see it must have crashed again as I had it open last night, and this am it was not running.

This am, on restarting it cannot refresh itself with the phone.

Since Phone link and attaching android to the windows system is so new its gonna be a few years before it works right. Unfortunately

I actually set this up to have a go, See if i could recreate the issue, Seems to work exactly as it should on my side, I actually couldn't make it crash when i tried to, Albeit i thought it was pretty nifty, Until i realised my phone thats next to my mouse..lights up and goes through the motions like i was using the handset when controlling it via pc, Which to me is kinda pointless imo. Useful for certain things ofc, But if i find the crash happening etc il post back.

Sometimes mine will do that out of the blue and work again after rebooting. Kind of a pain to have to stop and reboot but that usually clears the problem.

my Phone Link app is somewhat reliable, but I don't use all features. The voice calls I disabled because my phone gets jacked trying to pick between sending the audio to my PC, my earbuds, or my smart watch. And when it's with my PC it frequently uses the wrong Mic and it was just a hassle. Besides I don't use my cell for calls 99.95% of the time. I wish the SMS was more reliable though, oddly I can sent outgoing message and the recipient gets it, but it doesn't show in my phone's chat app (Google's SMS app).

Yup i had this too, Sent a message through whatsapp, Got one back and a few more etc, Checked my phone and its like it never happened lol

I have 2 problems with Phone Link when running Win11. These problems don't exist when running Win10.

URLs in text msgs don't work right. I need this when I get my groceries via Instacart. Microsoft is aware of this and has an experimental version of Phone Link available. At least it did a couple of weeks ago. I didn't try it.

Waking my computer after it has been sleeping an hour or more, the Phone Link app is there and visible on the monitor, but sometimes after a couple of seconds, it commits suicide. The app window disappears and the app needs to be restarted.

As I mentioned earlier, these problems don't exist when running Win10.

Yes they do not work, I think they used to work, but they broke it.
Phone link a month ago used to while I was typing a message just close. It did that over and over, so I started sending very quick to type messages before it crashed.

I just retried the app, and it refreshed and is working, I did nothing to break it, and nothing to fix it.
I personally think the problem is with whatever MS server computer is assigned to this function somewhere out there.

yeah, might help, till it breaks again. The google app works very well so far, does what I want which is really just the messaging part, the other stuff is not anything I ever used. Also nice that select-copy-paste work along with the links, None of that works anymore for me in Phone Link.

I tried an earlier version of the Phone Link and for me, it was more of a pain then worth. I haven't linked my new phone and I'm not sure if I will or not.

For the most part the new versions have worked very well for me using a modern Samsung S22 android phone with it on two different computers. Texting and calls work well but sometimes I'll have to hit the connect button on the app to reconnect for calls and now and then out of the blue the app won't automatically reconnect my phone forcing me to reboot the PC to get connected again. Over all it's been a very useful little app for me though.

My new phone is a S22+. I might give it a another try someday.

URL in text msg is working today. I don't know why.

The Phone Link version seems the same as it has been for a week or two. 1.22062.542.0

yes, everything with MS is a mystery, it breaks, it is mystery because it works for some, it works again it is a mystery as the program is the same version number. Except it cannot be, something changes, they just don't want you to know the reason why. It maybe that some related helper file needed for the program gets updated independent of the program

Just want to say, Phone link has died again both on my PC, and the laptop. The good news is web messages google works fine.
Phone link keeps saying the phone is offline. I tried multiple times to connect it again, but also the QR code that gets generated, phone link claims is invalid, EVERY SINGLE TIME I tried to make it work which is about 10 times, so I gave it over to the ridiculous software that never keeps working bin. The other error was it would say it is already connected. I just don't have the time to keep up with it or bother to make it function again. I don't even know why phone link failed again, maybe broke on one of it's frequent updates, but it has not been working for about a month.
