Hello Everyone,

Just wondering if there is a way like in Windows 10 or 11 to merge photos after a Fax & Scan (scanning) to put all of those images into one PDF?

Thanks,

Shawn

Have a wonderful day!

My Computer

You can "merge multiple files and formats into a single PDF" by using Nuance Paper Port. The software has been around for some time. I don't think Windows provides that capability.

I see, is that a free app? Though the workaround for Windows 10 is to select all photos then right-click, then press print, then I can put them into "Print into PDF". Does that work on Windows 11? Thanks, as I am still on 10 :D

My Computer

Ha! Ha! I like the workaround - I'd not realised that one before. No, Paperport is not free.

Yeah, well it just seems that Fax & Scan is a old product that seems to do the job fine, anyways all my scans are saved in OneDrive!! I knew Windows has a way to do it, I follow it , no 3rd party.

My Computer

Hello, wondering if that workaround still work on 11??? Can you confirm does it open the new print dialog or the old one

My Computer

Under Devices > Printers in Win 11 it shows Microsoft Print to pdf.

That's not my point, you scan some photos with Fax & Scan then you try to put all those photos into one. It's not the same as printing a page in a browser.

So you right-click all the photos in a folder and you press print? When I scan a few photos, in fax & scan, i want to merge them into one pdf. Thanks :D

My Computer

Ok it's possible to do what you wish, and do it for free, but it will need two applications to achieve

You will first need Word or one of it's clones, Powerpoint or another clone of it is also an option ...

What you then do is to create a document using the tools in "Word" until you have a document that has all your images in the order you want, (you can also of course create text labels etc if you wish), as if you were going to send to a printer

Follow this link to PDFCreator - select an install the free version - this will create a "dummy" printer that will create a PDF from any file (that it supports), that is sent to it.

Similar options are included in Windows, but do not have the controls for pagination etc of PDFCreator which can also if you wish print to various graphics format JPG etc

Yes, that is what I meant, I was just wondering if they killed of the old printer dialog, it seems that part of windows 7 is still alive in Windows 11. Thanks for testing this for me, this is critical for me as a student as I can finally can just scan and send my homework as a pdf instead of all these hundreds of images.

Thanks Nigel for the suggestion but Microsoft already has a PDF printer. Have a good day everyone and sorry for the bother of silly questions :(

Deleted member 3249, It's always important to acknowledge and thank those who have helped you in online communities. One way to do this is by using the like button located at the bottom of each post. By clicking on the like button, you can show your appreciation and support for the helpful content that others have shared with you. This small gesture can go a long way in encouraging people to continue contributing and sharing their knowledge with you and others in the community.

So, please remember to use the like button to show your gratitude and support to those who have helped you along the way. It's important to note that a "like" gives 1 point, "Helpful" gives 5 points, and for exceptional help, "Great support" gives 10 points.
