Hi
When i plug my IPhone in my Dell desktop notice comes up on phone to allow but nothing happens on desktop all it does now is charge my phone
any suggestions?

Haven't done that on my Win11 laptop but when I plug in my iPhone 13 into my Win10 desktop I see the phone when I open File Explorer the phone is there but it's not named iPhone. Try that.

For an Iphone to comunicate with Windows you have to install Itunes and use that for your comunicator. You can download it for free, just Goolge it and download it.

I tunes apple music is right and has to be installed on your desktop. When you plugin your phone to the desktop you have to approve the connection on your phone.

When you connect a cell phone to a Windows computer, it typically creates a folder under "This PC" in the left window of File Explorer where you access the files on the phone.

There is another program called anytrans. I have the paid version but there is a free version with limited function. It will let you transfer Ios phone pictures to a pc. Apple is a proprietory format and you have to have a program that will tranfer the contents and change the format so windows can use it. Anytrans does have a learning curve and you just have to play with it to learn it. It will make a folder called iMobie and transfer the contents to it. Itune does also work for me.

This is why I hate Apple. They just want to get as much money out of their customers as possible. MS is less greedy and more willing to let others enter the market for software.

Apple phones are a different animal. I have an Android phone but my wife has an Apple. This is why I have to have a specific program just for Apple. Anytrans is the best I have found it will do backups and also do phone transfers. It also works for Android phones.

You could try Apple Devices (Apple Devices - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store). Install, plug your iphone into your pc, and see if that does what you want.
