Browsers and Mail Pin or Unpin Apps on Navigation Bar in Outlook for Windows

This tutorial will show you how to pin and unpin Microsoft 365 apps on the navigation bar in Outlook for Windows for your account in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The new Outlook for Windows brings the latest features, intelligent assisted capabilities and a new modern and simplified design to your Outlook app. You can tailor it to your style and do more with new Outlook for Windows.

The navigation bar on the left side of Outlook for Windows shows the icons of your pinned Microsoft 365 apps.

The Mail and Calendar apps cannot be unpinned from the navigation bar, but you can pin or unpin the People, Groups, To Do, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps.

Here's How:

1 Open the Outlook for Windows app.

2 Do step 3 (pin) or step 4 (unpin) below for what you want.

3 Pin Microsoft 365 Apps to Navigation Bar in Outlook for Windows

A) Click/tap on the More apps button at the bottom on the left navigation bar. (see screenshot below)​

The More apps button will not be available if all apps are currently pinned.


B) Right click on an app you want to pin.​

C) Click/tap on Pin.​

D) You can drag and drop pinned apps to any order you want on the navigation bar.​

4 Unpin Microsoft 365 Apps from Navigation Bar in Outlook for Windows

A) Right click on an app on the navigation bar you want to unpin.​

B) Click/tap on Unpin.​
