OS
Windows 11
Hi Everyone. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this... I'm upgrading some computers to Windows 11. The users on these computers do not have a PIN or password. Power on just loads the home screen (which is correct for these devices). I notice though that if you ctl-alt-del and select switch users, it will ask for a PIN (which doesn't exist). Wondering if this is a bug or if some a config is incorrect.

Many thanks.

Try going to settings>accounts>signin options>Pin, Beside "remove this signin option" click remove. Restart and see if the issue still occurs.

One of these setting changes should help you. Do you currently have passwordless signin.

Thanks again. Yes it is a passwordless account (as it should be) and it works well. So the link you sent wont work for me. It has no PIN or password to login. On power up it goes strait to the home screen - which is correct. The only time it asks for a PIN is if I switch users and back again like:

  1. Power up - goes to home screen of standard user (eg USER1) - correct
  2. CTL-ALT-DEL - choose switch user
  3. Login Admin account (for example)
  4. CTL-ALT-DEL - choose switch user
  5. Login to standard user again (eg USER1)
  6. Asks for PIN (there is no PIN on this account)
