Hi,

Am a bit confused about Dell Inspiron laptop 5510 ports.

Ports

2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports
1 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type C™ port with DisplayPort™ and Power Delivery (only for computers with i5 processor) / Thunderbolt 4.0 with DisplayPort™ and Power Delivery (Available on i7 processors)
1 Headset Jacki
1 HDMI 1.4 port
1 power-adapter port

I can figure the power adapter port, Headset Jack..

The 2 on each side are USB 3.2...correct?

Is the 1 USB type C 3.2 and the HDMI the same port..on the left corner after the power and USB port?

I can't locate a separate HDMI port..

It has a card reader slot on the right corner after the headphone, USB port.

It's a core i7 11 gen laptop.

Thanks.

Doesn't the manual answer your questions? Dell manuals commonly include a labelled diagram that identifies each port.

I found this diagram that purports to be of a Dell Inspiron laptop 5510 and it shows an HDMI post on the left-side.

Alexey,

I hope you don't throw away that Dell link.
- I always get a pdf copy of the manual because I always ditch any paper copy I might be given and, like you, I might be away when I find a need to consult it.
- The list of documents includes the Service manual which is a step-by-step account of how to replace parts [internal battery, WiFi adapter, …]. I recently used mine to replace the keyboard in my Dell Inspiron 7779.

All the best,
Denis

Thanks again @Try3 (Dennis) for the advice, much appreciated.

Best regards!

Can my Xiaomi 12 Pro be linked to W11?

I link my phone to my computer with MyPhoneExplorer and have done so for a decade with different computers & different phones.
MyPhoneExplorer links Windows computers and Android phones reliably - TenForums

I have not yet tried MPE with Windows 11 but there is no reason to suppose that it will be any different.
- My main computer is Windows 10 and MPE links with my Xaoimi successfully.
- My Windows 11 computer is just a ramshackle test piece held together with sticky tape so I don't get any nasty surprises when I eventually update the other computers. I just haven't got around to trying MPE on it since updating it to Win11.

By the way, I had not found a driver for my Xaoimi but after I'd once connected it by USB, Windows update started to tell me of a new driver update [by LeMobile].
- I searched once again and ended up experimenting with drivers I'd found suggested.
- In the end, the others I downloaded & examined all seemed to be older versions of the one WU was telling me to use.
- So I did what WU said.
- I've always been relaxed about phone drivers because I've never seen any difference in behaviour whether a driver had been installed or not.

All the best,
Denis

I'll give it a shot using MPE, after am done with the patients. Am using Xiaomi 12 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro android devices.

My type C USB is 3.0 and the port says 3.2...would it make any difference?

Thanks again!

3.0/3.2 - no difference in behaviour.

I have never used a OnePlus phone. Do search their website for a USB driver rather than looking elsewhere. Some companies are better than Xaoimi about providing them [Samsung & HTC both had them available on their websites with clear labels so I could be sure I was downloading the right one].
- I used to connect with USB first and only later by WiFi but I now think that precaution was useless.

Do post back if you have any questions as you go through.

Best of luck,
Denis

Thanks for info about USB type C.
Shall keep you posted on Android, both Xiaomi and OnePlus.
Am on stock Oxygen on OnePlus and a debloated MIUI 13 Android 12 on 12 Pro.

Best regards!

Just connected Xiaomi 12 Pro via USB in developer mode, no issues. In device manager is working fine using Microsoft driver.

Does get connected to the laptop via hotspot too.

Shall get back later, with details. Did a quick check to see...

Have a great afternoon.
Best regards!
