Problem with connecting a Canon Powershot SX610 HS camera

I'm having difficulty maintaining a Wi-Fi connection between my Canon camera and my laptop. It connects for a few seconds and during that time I can see the images on my camera using the Canon Camera Window software installed on my Windows 11 (PC Specialist) laptop.

I've had this problem before, but I can't remember how I resolved it. I think it was an antivirus firewall setting that I had to change, but after a clean reinstall of Windows a few weeks ago due to problems after uninstalling third-party antivirus, I have only been using Windows Defender. The only other thing I have done is replace my router with an ASUS RT-AX86U Pro. Any ideas what I could check to try to troubleshoot this problem? If it's an issue with Defender, then I would definitely need some guidance, as I'm not too familiar with its settings.

Does it connect when using a wired connection?

Does it connect when using a wired connection?
I don't know and I can't find a cable that will fit the sockets on the camera.

Well, if you can find it, or just buy one from a place like Walmart.... it would instantly tell us if the problem was in the router... or not.

I don't think it's a problem with the router as I've used ASUS routers for many years and the only thing I've had to change when this problem with this camera has occurred has been to change some settings on my laptop. If I can't resolve the issue, I'll just have to keep taking the memory card out of the camera to transfer any new images.

The Specs at https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/powershot-sx610-hs show it uses SDHC memory cards, I'd just remove that and plug it into a computer with the slot or adapter and transfer data. I have a different model and don't use a direct connection with a cable or the wireless connection.

I've solved this problem this evening. My network was set to public and having changed that to private, the issue I reported no longer exists. Thank you all for your suggestions.
