Qualcomm FastConnect 4-stream DBS unleashes Windows 11 Wi-Fi gaming performance

The quickest way to any gamer’s heart is to ensure blazing fast, responsive, and rock-solid reliability in their internet connection. Even the slightest lag or loss of connectivity can mean game over. For years, this reality has hampered the rise of wireless PC gaming by keeping gamers tethered to wired ethernet connections. However, those days of wired connectivity are numbered as Qualcomm Technologies innovation is cutting the cord – unleashing PC gaming.

With key gaming ecosystem collaborators on board like Microsoft, Valve, AMD, and others, Qualcomm Technologies is tackling the challenges of latency-sensitive gaming with a feature called Wi-Fi Dual Station (see our recent press release). Wi-Fi Dual Station is now supported natively on Windows 11 and enabled by Qualcomm FastConnect 4-stream Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) technology, which can harness the performance of multiple Wi-Fi bands and antennas concurrently to outperform traditional single-band connections – packing the performance of 2 devices into 1.

By simultaneously sending data packets across the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands (or 6GHz where Wi-Fi 6E is available), latency-generated issues (e.g., from network congestion) are resolved at the system level for an ethernet-class gaming experience, wirelessly. And here’s the kicker – Wi-Fi Dual Station requires no additional purchase of a specialized gaming router. In tests conducted in our labs, PC’s supporting Wi-Fi Dual Station connected with off-the-shelf retail Wi-Fi 6 routers experienced sustained jitter-free, low latency wireless gameplay akin to what would be experienced with a wired ethernet connection.

Join us in the gaming revolution and unleash the ultimate in Wi-Fi gaming performance that gamers deserve.
