Slightly confused here about the Realtek Audio Effects Component, why the heck am I stuck on 11.0.6000.1096 when there is a version 12.137.1101.127? Does it have something to do with my board then being stuck on 11?
The 12. one appears to be the APO2 one, while the 11. one (1096) is the normal one. what is the difference between apo and apo2, which board support apo and which is for apo2

the Realtek APO2 "12.x" versions are used on few/certain aio desktop & laptop pcs and never used on common desktop motherboards.

my msi z690 motherboard driver has apo2 in that.

are you really sure about this, dealpapa?
what kind of specific MSI Z690 board are you using (there are many kinds of z690s like PRO Z690-A, MAG Z690 Tomahawk Wifi, MEG Z690 Godlike & MPG Z690 Carbon Wifi)

Realtek APO2 component 12.x drivers use "different" component IDs (or "hardware IDs) such as the following:
Code:
SWC\VEN_10EC&AID_0011
SWC\VEN_10EC&AID_0012
SWC\VEN_10EC&AID_0013

while the Realtek APO1 component 11.x drivers use the following ID:
Code:
SWC\VEN_10EC&AID_0001

check in Device Manager which ID is used for "Realtek Audio Effects Component" in Software components section
and the "hardware ID" for "Realtek(R) Audio" in Sound, video and game controllers section

I have SWC\VEN_10EC&AID_0001 but I have 12 driver installed

it seems both 11 and 12 are working fine. so confused

well one will be "active" and the other one will just be sitting there doing nothing, haha 😛

and the latest apo2 on muc recently is v12.155.1106.145
