One way to get the App GUID (used in winget command) for Microsoft store app, :
o open MSFT Store in BROWSER: Microsoft Store
o Search all applications (box near top-left) e.g., ClipChamp
o extract GUID from retrieved URL: https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/clipchamp-video-editor/9P1J8S7CCWWT?hl=en-us&gl=us

Then use winget as noted above e.g., winget install 9P1J8S7CCWWT

I've been searching the web flat to reinstall the Windows 11 People app after uninstalling it, but to no avail. With your link above to the Microsoft People app in the Windows Store: I was able to install it, and it's finally back again!

Great tutorial, but I probably won't be using it.

I only use/have four of the things on that list.
Paint, Notepad, Clock and Calculator.

I kilt all the rest of those things.

If I was to install an app via winget while it's already installed, would it overwrite with the newest version effectively updating it?

Hello,

It would be like doing a repair install of the app, and updating it to the latest version.

Hello guys, i did uninstall the win 11 default app by deploy command, by mistake remove snipping tool, and now can't install it again
i try to install the application from Microsoft store but the (.exe) file doesn't work and i try to use this command ( Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers *Microsoft.ScreenSketch* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} ) as well not working

guys do you have either different way to fix this issue

Did you try the "View in Store" option below to install from the Microsoft Store instead of EXE?

yeah the .exe file doesn't work, and already i run the windows installer services, the same.
also i run the DISM tool and sfc no corrupted files, and snipping tool issue still

Since this is a built-in app, you could try doing a repair install of Windows 11 below without losing anything to hopefully restore it.

Hey mate,

The Cross Device feature is built-in to W11. No downloads needed. It's often used with the Phone Link app though.

I tried the search query method and not sure what is wrong with that. I even tried Microsoft.ScreenSketch

Why does it need to be specifically be winget install 9MZ95KL8MR0L ? What am I missing?

Hello Andrew,

winget uses the app ID instead of name.

thanks, but sometimes I can use "winget install vlc" and that works. So I was just confused why some I have to use ID and some I can use the name of the app. It's weird.
