With the attached batch script .zip archive, you can change Windows 10 and Windows 11 folder icon. Place the folder icon in the extracted zip archive folder and name it Blue Folder.ico and execute the batch script.

You will need to replace the blue color folder icon with folder icon you want but make sure to name the folder icon as Blue Folder.

Follow the instructions.
As Administrator, delete the old imageresdll.mun. Copy over the downloaded W10 version. Log out.
i did followed the instructions. i run the command prompt as administrator rights, deleted the old imageresdll.mun file and then move the new windows 10 files and restarted the machine. I see same windows 11 icons

Clear your icon cache. Delete the iconcache_ files in AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer. You may have to restart exlorer after that.

delete icon cache first then run del C:\Windows\SystemResources\imageres.dll.mun and then download the mun from How to use Windows 10 Icons in Windows 11 this and then open system resources and paste the new mun in and then restart pc

I also thought that the hack described on Github was not going to work. Glad I read this comment. After clearing iconcache_ files it worked for me. Thanks.

Did both methods. First the bash script and then replacing the imageresdll.mun. Was able to get it to work by manually deleting imageresdll.mun. file(then moving the windows 10 file to its original location) and the iconcache in explorer both through command prompt(admin). Lastly, had to go back and run the bash script and choose the 2 option to change it back to "default" as the blue folder overrided the new folder icon aka the new default.

Realistically just doing the 2nd method using the command prompt to delete those files would've done the job. Thanks all.
