Sad to hear one of the all time football greats has passed away.

A dear friend of mine showed me a photo of her with Denis on one side and Bobby on the other, with Georgie's head peeking over behind her. She is only 5'2" and they towered over her.

I asked her where she got the photo and she said she was visiting family in Manchester and Denis was her dad:s cousin (her 2nd cousin).

I always remember the day at the end of his career when he had moved to Man City and he scored the goal against Man Utd that caused Man Utd to be relegated.

A true gentleman - he just walked away without celebrating the goal, sad he had effectively relegated the club he loved so much.

The "holy trinity (Denis, Bobby and Georgie)" are now together and will now entertain all for eternity.

RIP Denis.

Being a Man United fan was lucky enough to see the Law man several times.
If my memory serves me well, well I am eighty eight....

Denis at that time was playing for Manchester City in an FA Cup match at Luton, I left work at Midday to watch the Game.
On the way I stopped at a petrol station to fill up the tank, at the time my Motorbike was a BSA 34GS Clubman
which was a semi racing machine with an enormous carb sticking out.
Unfortunately whilst I was undoing my coat to get the money the petrol attendant was filling up the sump
through the carb.
Of course it was impossible to drive, so they took me by car to watch the match while they drained and
cleaned the sump.
At the Match Denis scored 6 times and would you believe it the match was abandoned due to an enormous cloudburst in the second half, I was the only person left behind the goal because I was wearing full motor cycle gear including leggings, wellies, waterproof jacket, helmet and goggles.

Unfortunately for Denis lord only knows how many more goals he might have scored if the match had not been abandoned......

And to rub salt in the wound, Luton won the replay 3-1 and guess who score the goal for Man City?
