I have a outdoor range extender that connects to my computer at church it has a screw in connection similar to a screw in antenna is there a router that will take that type of fitting below is the type of connection I am refering to

Usually screw on connectors like that are either for antennae, or for Coaxial cable.

Just to be sure - this is on the range extender card itself?

And what are you trying to do, exactly, run a wired connection to it?

NO ,this is the type of connectro that I have for the range extender I have the male connection and instead of going to the PC i want to go to a router, it is on a coaxle cable

Got a make and model # of that range extender? We can probably find a user manual that will say what can and cannot be used with it.

@nightowl17, Per the image you posted, you cannot do what you purpose. If you want a router connection, you will need both coaxial and ethernet cable. The card in your image appears to be a Wi-Fi card with screw in antennas. Those screw in mounts won't support a coaxial cable. Nor will the card support the type data input a coaxial cable supports.

Perhaps I've misunderstood your post/question?

Not clear on your question, but I named what cables you'd need in my post above - coaxial cable / ethernet cable.

Coaxial Cable... The diameter of those connectors will be bigger than the antenna connections in your image, thus will not fit.

Edit: for a "router" you may not need a coaxial cable (unless a modem is built into the router), but you will need an ethernet cable.

What are you wanting to accomplish? Is your range extender not feeding Wi-Fi to your PC with that card installed?

Knowing what the issue is / might be, would better help to answer the question.

These are called Type F co-axial connectors and most definitely not for computer comms use, but they are very good for TV/satellite signals (because that is what they are used for) :)

In my area the only Internet connections that require the Coax cable is Spectrum Broadband/CableTV and Satellite such as Dish or WildBlue. The phone line DSL uses different modems. My Wireless DSL service uses a PoE Modem connected via CAT5 Ethernet cable to a dish-type antenna on the end of my house aimed at antennae over a mile away on a high hill. Anything else connected to the Modem is part of my network, Wireless Router, Switch, Printers, Desktop Computers, Wireless Notebooks, NAS.

The connectors are called RP-SMA (Reverse Polarity, SubMiniature Version A)

To go between a router and the range extender you will need to either use Ethernet or a WiFi connection - you can't do it via the antennae connections.

I'm guessing you do not have an outdoor range extender. I'm betting you have an outdoor antenna, and it is connected to your computer's WiFi adapter card:

Sounds like all you need is a router with detachable antennae.

Ahhh. Currently connected to computer, but he wants to connect to router instead of the computer.

IOW, replace the regular antenna of a router with this RE antenna, since they use the same connection.

@NavyLCDR - will the router suport using such a device (I"m considering signal output power and such, not an expert by any means, but I think there is a possibility of an issue here)?
